  • Morning all...
It's only 9am and my varicose vein is already hurting... hope that this is not an omen for the day ahead. I had another migraine last night so went to bed by 9pm and am still a bit groggy this morning.
DS was sent home from nursery yesterday - he's full of cold and just can't be bothered with anything at the moment. I've had to leave him at home with OH today, which I'm marginally concerned about because OH didn't go to bed last night and doesn't much look like he can be bothered himself today. Still, I'm hoping that it'll do the pair of them good to spend the day together. Gives OH a purpose for getting up and about and ds doesn't have to face 10 hours at nursery.
My diet food is due to arrive today and I've spent the last couple of days preparing to get tough on the weightloss. I'm nervous but quite determined at the moment.
Hope everyone has a nice day - Wednesday is my killer day at work. Hoping that everything will be ok after today.

Hope the diet food arrives safely and that work is better than you thought it would be.

As you say it will do OH good to look after DS today, so don't stress and concentrate on you a little.

    Take care

  • So far so good. It hasn't been great, but not awful either... I'm still at work but the kids have gone for the day. Now for a couple of hours of marking before I pick up dd and head home to find out how the boys have gotten on at home today with each other. Fingers crossed.

You'll get there Rose - I'm 2 years ahead of you with my dmp. I felt despondent about it for a good couple of months. I genuinely think I only had half a light bulb moment back then. The real thing for me came December when I read your posts... last review I'd have been thrilled if they'd dropped my payments so I had more money to spend. Now I just want them as high as I can afford to get cleared asap. ;) You don't know what's round the corner - your situation may improve and you may be able to up your payments.

I hesitate to say it because I've had quite a bit of rubbbish luck recently, but today I feel lots better than I have done in ages. I have managed to find more money for my creditors. And I am making progress in other areas of life too - the diet stuff is en route, and things could be on the up with work too. Now we just need to fix OH's head and we'll be all good. It's just less than a fortnight to my birthday - I'm crossing fingers for a very happy birthday this year (you never know) :T

I'm hoping that we will be able to up the payment at some point. I really don't want us to be on a DMP for 14 years! I guess at this end, it's a case of getting used to living on a budget with no overdraft or credit card. once that becomes second nature (which I hope it will) then we can think about what to cut, or change and hopefully I might get a job...

    HI BR

I know first hand it is difficult and I remember when I first started I found it so difficult the last few days of the month with no money.

Also when the guys at work ask me out and I have to decline because its not something I have budgeted for (Im sure some of them think Im just being a boring old fogey:o)

Starting to learn to keep a little bit of money and have even joined the sealed pot challenge this year (Cant wait to see whats there in November)

However it soon does become second nature and who knows we might be able to do that F&F I keep hearing about.

So here's to us and our one day debt free life

  • Hi all

Sorry I've not been on for a few days. I've lost my mojo a little bit.... I've gone from being manically stressed out about everything to basically not giving two hoots about anything. Eeek! I feel like I cannot be bothered with anything at all - work, home, OH. I hope it's just a minor blip, due to my migraine medication being upped. The doctor said it might help with stress, which it has done but I fear it's flipped me too far until I get used to it.
My diet food arrived Wednesday and I've gotten straight on with it. I know it's early days but I certainly don't feel as hungry as I expected to. Fingers crossed I can stick to it and see results sooner rather than later, as that it the best motivator for me.
OH has dipped right down again, which is another reason I've not been online in a few days. I'm trying to make the effort a little bit by spending time with him after the kids are in bed, so I'm not online. To be honest he's rubbish company but I think he needs to stop spending so much time on his own so I'm doing what I can...
The house is a mess and I can't be bothered with it.
Pooooo.... I need to find some motivation somewhere. Hopefully it's just hormonal or something and I'll be back to my old self next week.

Glad the diet food arrived safely and is keeping you sufficiently full.

Its nice that you and OH can spend some time together, sometimes they may be all he needs.

As for the state of the house/mess I know I have read on someones signature that we will be remembered for how much time we spent with family and not wether we had a perfect house (or at least similar). To be honest I think that is very true and if the house is not perfect but you get to spend quality time with the family, then that is all that matters:)

As for the hormones, hey we all have then and they have a terrible habit of being a bit of a nuisance at certain times but it will pass and hopefully all will be well in time for your birthday.

    Take care,

  • I'm not deliberately avoiding the forums I promise... I've hurt my neck. Not sure how I did it but suspect it was while I was getting ds out of the car yesterday. I couldn't quite reach as the car I was parked next to was quite close, so had to twist to reach him. Then about 10 mins later I started feeling a twinge, then it got unbearable and since then it's gotten more and more painful.
How typical... I am in agony and I have a job interview on Tuesday.
And it's my birthday next week.
On the plus side - diet going well. Don't feel like eating in this pain.
