sorry
That's a good price and as a complete mac- and ipod-aholic I can't bring myself to dissaprove:rotfl: That money was made from you selling things though so you haven't spent it out of your wages. Again, it comes down to the fact that you wouldn't have to worry so much if you weren't supporting your family financially

:rotfl: kathi must say its been nearly 6 months since my accident (my old mp3 player was part of the cause, and i sold that). I could never justify the £140 before but i saw this auction and no one was bidding, i won it at £82.40 then i payed extra for special delivery next day. I did get a bargain and i wasnt going to spend more than £100 on a new mp3 player. But i fell in love with the old nano and this new one is a dream... this purchase i dont regreat. Yes i could have put that money towards my debt i relise that but there comes a point where i am spending nothing on myself kepping others and surviving on less than £5 a month for everything i thought i deserved it. Also it is very mse too as i will now have no reason not to take a year out to save for my car as i have no excuse of the boredom on public transport :rotfl:.
I am still undecided as to if i should empty my savings (nearly £200) for my car and use them against my debt then once that is payed re-save for my car. I have come to the fact this week that i can't go to college, work full time, keep a car, keep my mum (and the house) (although this is not happening anymore) and have a 'life' on my wage. Once i pass my test and my pass plus i will be able to save an extra £150.00 a month towards my car and in the mean time i can always add myself to my mums insurance (if she will let me) so i dont get rusty. Driving isnt important to me as much as it was 3 months ago. But i dont want to give it up as its a life skill but if i dont get a car and i am not driving for years it wouldnt bother me... Do you agree with my thinking? I get barely 5% on my savings and paying off the debt (at the same intrest rate) will make my money work much harder...

I couldn't agree more! You deserve to be able to spend your available money on yourself not the bills your family run up! Its not strict dfw to say it, I know, but I firmly believe you (we) need some life and some spending every now and again... slow and steady wins the race and all that.postingalwaysposting wrote: »I am still undecided as to if i should empty my savings (nearly £200) for my car and use them against my debt then once that is payed re-save for my car. Well your debt is at 0% so you can take your time deciding! As soon as you're being charged interest then you'd be better emptying your savings... as you say you can then make a fresh start of saving up.
I totally agree about driving being a life skill, you don't want to have come this far and then not get the license to show for it! Only thing i would say though... I personally felt I learned a lot and gained in confidence so much in the first few months of driving after passing (feels like such a long time ago) so if you can get yourself onto someone's insurance for the odd little bit of practice that's great. Not if you end up paying for all your mum's insurance or something though... knowing how she is!

ohhh phew... yes i have a few months... you never know i may have payed it all off buy thenbut if i start getting charged interest i wil empty my account
well if i cant afford a car i will get mum to put me on her insurance and i wont be paying it all i will just pay the increase
then i can pop out every now and again and get some confidence
if my situatuion was different i would be fine
but it wont take me long once i start saving anyway

oooooooooh crumbs, didnt mean to make you cry hun
But the offer is always there, and everyone here is caring and lovely because we appreciate each other, our little quirks, we dont judge because we cant judge :rotfl:
Well I for one cant moan at people for their spending considering I couldnt even tell you what I paid for on my credit card!
So dont you ever for one second think you're alone because we're all here, for you and for each other, and you've paid us all back 10 fold in all the fantastic loving and caring advice you've given to us....
Enough gushing about how lovely we all are!
Considering what you're doing for your mum, it's the least she can do to let you have a go in her car, just dont get suckered into more expense!!!

thanks cafcgirl
you are great
another day in the life of posting :rotfl: you can stop reading now ~ i wont be offended :rotfl:
i recived to bills today... one i am quiet happy about and the other not very but i can live with it... I recived my bt bill today and we now 'owe' only £142.90 :T so in the next three months this will be clear ready for the next quarteras i have put on an call option (for mum) which i take from the remainding house keeping it means that the calls added are only the ones i didnt 'catch' but she will give me that this week £37.
But i also got my barcalaycard credit card statement... i had to wait for this to close the account... but a few weeks ago my brother dropped in that he opened up a different 360 account (that he had already activated but shut ~ all technical to me) but of course he activated it with what i thought was my old old credit card (capital one). I was wrong so now he owes me not £35 but £75  and i am now in more debt... I have told him he as a month to get the payment to me and i will only pay the min this month... in reality i am going to pay it off in full (using my holiday savings ~ part of) and then replace my holiday savings with my car savings (the part missing) and then the remainder of my car savings will become my college money (with my £177.00 already kept) as the course will be more expensive this year.
and breathe... hope you can follow that :rotfl:
no refund as of yet for that £100 and i am not sure i will see it... but we will cross that bridge when we get there... I also got a free bottle of wine from work todayfor attending a meeting out of working hours... so thats another xmas gift :T
