i am just really annoyed as they can see i dont use it anyway so why would i want £500.00 extra

For emergencies - didn't you know? Same reason I get a whole bundle of credit card cheques sent to me, despite never having used a single one in the 10 years I've had a credit card. Never mind - means I get more of my money's worth out of my shredder.

  • having a problem today, i have seen a little (well tiny flat) advertised that i love and its only £400 per month... but if i were to view it how do you run a house, how much would bills cost? also what do i do about my mum  could i run a flat with only £350.00 when i have my driving/savings (xmas)/bus travel/house insurance (although this will change to that)/broadband? this is the link http://www.upmystreet.propertyfinder.com/2/pf/da/upMyStreet/property/details.do?action=ATN_GET_PROPERTY_DETAILS&propertyDetailsKey=9200669&tenure=rent&l1=BS29JS its on a bus route (well a walk from one) and its in a nice area :)

I dont think its possible though, as once i leave mum will not cope at all, she could prob get more benifits (as they (working tax) count all my wage at the momment) but should i worry about that?

    Posting,

lets look at numbers like you did with car. Here's some guesses...

    Gas/leccy..say £40 a month
    Phone/broadband £35?
    TV licence £12
    Contents insurance £15
    Council tax and water £90

So call it £200 a month on top of rent. Does that make it betterorworse?

Plus remember 1 month in advance, 1 month rent as deposit. So you need £800 in your hand.
    Debt free 4th April 2007.
New house. Bigger mortgage. MFWB after I have my buffer cash in place.

Council tax: If you know the address, you can find out how much it'll cost you per month by ringing the council.

Insurance: You can get cheap insurance if you go through quidco. Zurich and Barclays had quite good deals on recently. Remember you'll only need contents.

Utilities: You'll have to see how well the flat is insulated etc before you can guesstimate how much gas/electricity is going to cost. Have a look on this site to see how much phone/broadband can be had for.

Your mother will have to cope, unless you still want to be there when you are 60.

    Posting,

lets look at numbers like you did with car. Here's some guesses... thanks ~ heres my points as of below :)

    Gas/leccy..say £40 a month
    Phone/broadband £35? i pay this anyway
    TV licence £12
Contents insurance £15 i pay £11 for this house, i presume i can change it over
    Council tax and water £90

So call it £200 a month on top of rent. Does that make it betterorworse? umm well at the momment i pay roughly £184.00 for everything but that includes rent

Plus remember 1 month in advance, 1 month rent as deposit. So you need £800 in your hand. this will be the stuggle which is putting me off as i will either need to put it onto a card or get a loan to cover this :o so thats more debt that i could do without :(

if i use you approx an make a soa it will look like this
    Rent £400
    Gas/leccy..say £40 a month
    Phone/broadband £40
    TV licence £12
    Contents insurance £15
    Council tax and water £90

    Bus fare £50
    Driving lessons £90
    Debt repayment (sig) £50
    Xmas savings £18
    Charity £6

totall £811.00 ~ on a good month my take home is £800.00 :undecided i guess it wont work, i suppose i will be at home forever :o

edit ~ how can other people younger than me afford to move out k1ocray.gif

    Phone/broadband £40

Talk Talk is £20 for phone and broadband.
    TV licence £12
    Contents insurance £15

Barclays are still offering £125 quidco cash-back. Why don't you run a quote through their system and see how much it will really cost you?

Fifteen quid a month is more expensive than I paid without the cash back.

Barclays are still offering £125 quidco cash-back. Why don't you run a quote through their system and see how much it will really cost you? the insurance i have now is tied (through qudico so i had cash back) but i presume i can just change this over? if so thats only £11

Fifteen quid a month is more expensive than I paid without the cash back.

but i still couldnt do it though could i ztd? unless a miracle happens? i think i was just dreaming of what could have been i suppose
