Ordering something just before you went on holiday probably wasn't the most sensible thing to do!
I didn't order it right before going on holiday, I might be many things, but I'm not THAT daft!I ordered it over a month before, the seller took their time posting. Not totally relavent though...
Please excuse my bad spelling and missing letters-I post here using either my iPhone or rathr rubbishy netbook, neither of whch have excellent keyboards! Sorry!0 -

Or if it's international... is the dispute between the sender's postal service and RM? The sender still claims from whoever they paid to carry out the delivery don't they?I need to think of something new here...0 -

OK, *I* haven't complicated anything, the postman has by ticking all the boxes. The man on the phone agreed there should only have been the ones relating to the recorded nature of the item ticked, which was also what my Dad told be before I phoned. Yes I need to collect it, I have never said otherwise, my issue is the uncertainty of WHEN, and the fact that this postman obviously doesn't know what to tick on a simple form, as demonstrated by this, and 2 previous parcels, which were agreed to be wrong by his boss.
My question was could I ask for him to be taken off my route....so far no-one has offered any insight, but don't bother, because as its all my fault anyway, I know what the answer will be.
I stopped asking questions on here a long time ago as people are more interested in twisting your questions, then trying to start a debate!! I would at a guess say no you won't be able to get his route changed, as far as him being retrained, well that was probably just to get you off the phone, just keep getting them sent to your work address.NEVER REGRET ANYTHING THAT MAKES YOU SMILE:D

I must be very lucky. Our local postman always leaves us a card, then tries my mum down the road just in case. He leaves the red card with a note - will try your mum if not in will be at the sorting office tomorrow. Couldnt be any easier. Mind you I always give our psoman a xmas gift of some chocolates!!
If you have a postoffice in the village near you, you can collect fromthere or for a small fee the postman can redirect locally to your workplace - but you will need to provide photographic ID either driving license or passport.
How anyone would leave a parcel for 3 weeks is beyound me, i want my parcel the same day - I might have won a prize in a competition!! I wish.BSC member 137

not quite
its costs £1.50 to collect from a Post Office
it costs nothing for redelivery but items shouldnt be redelivered to another address except via the online service/customer services
who exactly would you be showing the passport to?0 -
I find it a pain in the backside when I have these cards through the door as I too live quite a way from my collection office. One of the disbenefits of living in a beautiful, but very rural, part of the country.
However, no matter what is written or ticked on the card, I always collect within a day or two. 99% of the time, I have ordered an item that I am eager to get, so it is for my benefit in the end to make the special journey. A couple of times, I have called in and asked for the item to be redirected to my local, very small, post office which costs only something like 50p, and is about a mile from my house. This then alleviates all the debate around whether or not the item will be there for only a week or longer...
The only time I was not happy was when I went to collect a recorded delivery. Was quite in anticipation of what it could be as I couldn't remember ordering anything, so was hoping for a nice surprise!
Unfortunately, when I opened the letter, it was in fact a speeding fine :rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Common sense can be so simple.
To add to this......If you treat EVERY missed delivery as having a one week deadline no matter what boxes were ticked/unticked on the card, then hopefully, no more packages will be sent back before you collect them.
it will soon be 18 days for everything
so a moot point0 -

I find that rather rude. I have tried to be helpful to the OP explaining about the cards. Given her the info that I would have given any customer coming into the office to collect a parcel. She may not have liked what I said but alas, it was the right advice.
And quite rightly above, the boxes would be no good for RD or SD where and item needs a signature.
They really changing it to 18 days for everything Custardly? Seems a strange number, keep me posted when it comes in so I can keep giving the right advice on here4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0
