You really are making this more complicated than it needs to be. The fact that its a packet is irrelevant as it still needs a signature. At the same time it doesn't matter that he has also ticked that its a packet - it changes nothing!! You still need to go and collect it because it needs a signature!
If it wasn't recorded, it would still be a packet and would not fit through your letter box so it would still need to be collected by you.
Seriously!! Get a grip, take the advice given here.
If I was your postman I would be asking to change routes!!!!peachyprice wrote: »You haven't answered, why do you think a packet means it can't be recorded signed for?
Ask a simple question, get a bunch of unhelpful, b1tchy answers.....should I expect any different here, probably not....
OK, *I* haven't complicated anything, the postman has by ticking all the boxes. The man on the phone agreed there should only have been the ones relating to the recorded nature of the item ticked, which was also what my Dad told be before I phoned. Yes I need to collect it, I have never said otherwise, my issue is the uncertainty of WHEN, and the fact that this postman obviously doesn't know what to tick on a simple form, as demonstrated by this, and 2 previous parcels, which were agreed to be wrong by his boss.
My question was could I ask for him to be taken off my route....so far no-one has offered any insight, but don't bother, because as its all my fault anyway, I know what the answer will be.Please excuse my bad spelling and missing letters-I post here using either my iPhone or rathr rubbishy netbook, neither of whch have excellent keyboards! Sorry!0 -

If you can quote where I have said it CANNOT be both, I will agree with you, I have simply said that its the box that should have been ticked on the form, as thats the class it was sent as. 'Recorded' superceeds 'small packet' or whatever as its a higher class of postage. Please excuse my bad spelling and missing letters-I post here using either my iPhone or rathr rubbishy netbook, neither of whch have excellent keyboards! MSE thread in 'I'm right, everyone else is wrong' shocker
I don't think Im right and everyone is wrong, however I do know what I have been told by people in the postal industry, and I am trying to fill in where I may not have been clear. The fact is, this man fills in forms incorrectly, repeatedly, and has in the past caused me to lose money. His boss agreed he was in the wrong, yet he continues to fill in forms in a, while perhaps not totally wrong, but confusing manner, and omits information. Should I say nothing? Or inform his bosses so they can help him do a better job? Please excuse my bad spelling and missing letters-I post here using either my iPhone or rathr rubbishy netbook, neither of whch have excellent keyboards! Whether he was delivering a flyer or a jumbo jet, the fact is that you still have to go and collect it.
He could draw a picture of a monkey butler on the red card but it still doesnt change the fact your guff is at the depot waiting for collectionhelpful tips
