The letter came in my name, as far as i am aware i have not held a first direct account, to be honest dont know what banks or credit card companies they represent.
I may have had some debts from my student days, yet them days have been over for over 4-5 years. Don't know why it has taken them so long to surface.
I have not called them yet, just waiting to see what the best move will be.
These companies just seem like leaches just trying to suck consumers dry.
Still waiting on a plan of action!!!!!!0 -
my bank and credit card debt went to debt recovery can i claim charges from them does anybody know?0

Yep, you sure can. The refunds may go straight off of your debt, but thats just as good anyway.
Im currently claiming against my credit cards which are in an IVA, so get cracking.
edit: i just read your post again and read it properly this time. You can still claim the charges though!0 -
thankyou hughie278.

Hi All. New to forum so apologise if this information is available and I just havent seen it.
I owe about 800 quid to a debt collection agency from an old Nat West account. I fell ill, lost my job and became overdrawn by the matter of maybe 30 or 40 pounds initially. This snowballed into the 800 quid Im being chased for now. The account was closed as I could not keep up with the charges and passed on to an debt colection agency.
Given that bank charges are now in dispute and becomming reclaimable (aside from the test-case hiatus) is there any way I can get rid of the approx 700 quids worth of bank charges which i owe. Obviously I did not pay the charges, yet is a debt that hangs over me.
Does anyone have any advice or can point me in the right direction? many Thanks

Hi
I went over my overdraft by 10, and asked natwest to freeze the account as I had lost my job and could not pay any money at the moment. They refused to do this, and have now charged me £511.64
My debt has been passed on to debt collection agency, hjow do I claim these charges back now??
Many thanks
