MSE News: Ryanair raises fees again

other airlines are often so much cheaper overall. Unfortunately, Ryanair is the only airline to fly from anywhere in the UK to my destination in Spain (about which I have no choice as I must go on this course for my degree, paid out of my own pocket), and for two months out there, just taking hand luggage isn't exactly feasible. Wahey for my course being even more expensive this year! Flights last year were a Ryanair bargain at over 200 pounds booked well in advance.0

People complaining they're only doing it for profit. Well obviously! I'm sure Ryanair wasn't started with the aim of having an average living.0

apparently ryanair are trying to delay the selling of stansted from BAA. hahaha i love it.0

The thing is that it's 10 people per day on average but over Christmas and New Year I would guess with everyone trying to get back home for the holidays might increase the rate somewhat. Obviously Micheal O'Leary has spotted the big jump in charges in previous years and decided to introduce a 50% increase in revenues just in time for the holiday traffic.SaveTheEuro wrote: »And Ryanair still doesn't allow passengers to print their own boarding cards in the four hours before flying. Why?
The only possible reason is to screw a few extra quid out of those who arrive at the airport and forgot or are unaware of the rules.
The reality is that me and others who take advantage of the low Ryanair prices (if you abide by their conditions) are being subsidised by those who forget their boarding cards or want to carry lots of luggage.0 -
Ryanair allow people to check in, store the PDF boarding pass and print it out from 15 days before departure. It is not rocket science!0

My brother has a lung problem and has to carry oxygen to help him with his breathing. He has limited mobility but can get around.
This only came on him during the year, before this he was a fit man, he's only over 50.
He fly's from Stansted to Derry a few times a year, using Ryanair because it was handy and cheap. He tried to book in July, his first flight after he started using oxygen.
He contacted ryanair about his problem, and to see if it okay to carry on his own oxygen bottle. He was told to book the flights and then send on a 'fitness to fly' document he had to get from his consultant.
Anyway, the bottom line is that he wasn't allowed to carry on his own oxygen and was charged an extra £100 per flight for using their oxygen!!!
Other budget airline allow people to carry on their own bottles, but not the shower of f***ers from ryanair. He can walk unaided with his oxygen, without it he had to use a wheelchair and get a lift into the plane.
Just another way for o'leary to rip off his customers!Mac0 -

Ryanair are hoping, I suspect, that a new owner will reduce costs so they can afford to fly from Stansted again.Warning: In the kingdom of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.

I don't suppose their passengers will see much benefit from Ryanair even when Stansted is sold.Warning: In the kingdom of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.
