Alcohol ie the acceptable drug so it's seems is far more dangerous to the user and those around than cannabis which if legalised coud potentially mske msny people in chronic pain lives far easier.
Have you actually seen the side effects of smoking pot? Hmmm no your right it is safe, tell that to the people who now have schizophrenia from smoking it.
It is legal if you have a prescription from the GP for it.0 -
I do believe that everyone is entitled to their opinions and to me it is the most disgusting smell in the world. So thanks for pointing out to me that I haven't lived, I've lived enough to know right from wrong, to know that that stuff is illegal and smelling it makes me sick. That ok with you?
Ever been around someone with Salmonella or C.Diff? Ever been to a sewage works? Ever mucked out a poorly horse? Ever uncovered a mass grave in a war torn developing country?
Yeah I suppose you are entitled to your opinion, but my opinion is that your opinion was a touch hyperbolic.

Will try and cover everything - sorry if i miss anything
When the mum was violent it was about a year ago, we stay out of each others waqy, say hi if we see each other but i think shes now realised her sons arent the little angels she once thought they was.
The (main) lad is 18 (I think?) and doesnt seem to be moving (although he has a serious GF - maybe she will take him away lol)
I rent - same Landlord as next door - and i REALLY dont want to move if i can help it. It's a housing association house, so very cheap rent (all other rent is nearly double what i pay) and I inherit a house so dont really want to be wasting a lot of money on high rent
Landlord isnt bothered, he tells me to speak to them myself
The smell isnt there 24/7 - it's more so in the evening when they are in their room - I think its possibly worse because their room is next to my bathroom and I have one of the big boilers in there so the heat is possibly making it worse? I cant plug an air freshener in on the stairs - No plug! Obviously there is no plug in the bathroom either. Have been using one of those auto scent smellies but it just doesnt work.
The person who said they are embarrassed because they dont want people thinking they smoke it - THATS ME!!!!
As I say - I'm an "each to their own" kinda person - I'd never ever go round screaming "its illegal" etc and demand they stop - It's just a bit of curtosy and to consider me.
Those of you who smoke it might not understand this - those who dont smoke might - I physically can not have a nice relaxing bath when they are smoking it because i cant stand to be in the bathroom - Thats how bad the smell is
I've mentioned the air sprays before - they arent interested
The walls are thin (not sure what they are made of!) but you do hear ALOT - you can hear them sneeze!!! So they cant be very thick (They are old collery houses so you would have thought they would be decent built!)
I understand its december, its cold and they dont want to lose the heat . . . but i dont know what else to suggest other than to open the window.
Is the spray expensive? Think it might be cheeky if i buy one, wrap it up in xmas paper and say "here" lol
I dont understand the paragraph I highlighted in red Mimi. when you mentioned in another post about the Landlord (singular) I thought it was one of those privately rented houses.
But, you now say its Housing Association - which is it? it cannot be both!0 -

I very rarely have some (every few months) when the pain is really, really bad and the morphine won't touch it. I don't feel it's selfish to want a bit of relief (and it will help me go to sleep too at the same time) and it's perfectly true to say I can stop anytime I like, as it's not something I crave, or think about often.
I wish they'd make it available for people with severe chronic pain like they do in a lot of states in the US.
However, obviously in this case the neighbour is selfish - but it's not fair to say everyone is like that."There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow." - Orison Swett Marden0 -

No, no, no and er no.
I guess smoking the stuff has killed some of your brain cells off. It has that effect. Sorry.0 -
I always quite liked the smell though i haven't smoked it since my uni days.

I think in this case the neighbour is being selfish, it's not asking much for him to at least open the window (yes its cold but tough !!!!-i'm bloody freezing when i go outside for a fag but that's my choice)This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Sorry I should have explained better.
Its a housing association house (not council) its "firm" who brought about 100 houses all over the area and rent them out. Each area has its own manager (who I refer to as the landlord) he's the guy who maintains and runs things - mine just doesn't give a toss
If I complain to the housing association - they pass the complaint to the manager - who then tells me "it will settle down"
Im in process of find out who is above him

I would have probably just mentioned to the mother that there's a smell of weed coming from their house - and that if I could smell it, other people probably can too - and that she might want to do something about it before the cops get wind of it, because I'd hate for her to get into trouble.....maybe making it seem like it's for her OWN good would get her to do something about it?0

It is legal if you have a prescription from the GP for it.
Just to add, using cannabis is not thought to be an actual cause of schizophrenia, although there is strong evidence to suggest that the drug can trigger the onset of mental illness in some people with a prior disposition.
A friend has the illness, you see, and people are always making the assumption he has it through cannabis use.0 -

Thanks Mimi! er, a Housing Association has a 'set structure' with rules and procedures they have to abide by! a private landlord cannot just call himself a HA!
The HA should have a website. or a Tenants handbook which sets out precisely how neighbour disputes will be handled by the Association! This is why I asked which it was - I wasnt nit-picking!
I believe Housing Associations are required to have a means of mediating neighbour disputes and they should be clearly set out in the tenants handbook. I know larger Associations have a sort of 'Nuisance Team'. yours is smaller and may operate under different rules! I would actually find out how to complain and who exactly to complain to as you are getting no practical advice from the 'manager'!0
