However I now have to pay I-smart £153.
The set fee on the £300 is £35 which is fine but they are charging me 100% of the £118 they got extra...
The £418 is coming off my credit card balance instead of me recieving a cheque.....the only problem is that my credit card account is suspended so I can't get to the cash...If I don't find £153 to pay I-smart in 7 days they are adding an admin fee of £150 on top of the £153....
I am a new homeowner and don't have that sort of spare cash....
This why using a company is the worst thing possible as if you have any debt with the bank or on credit card then any monies reclaimed will be put towards that and as you have found to your cost you are now owe the fees charged for the work done. I'm afraid it will be in the small print of the contract you agree to and all I can suggest is you try and borrow the money to pay them before the £150 is added on. Having said that this seems an excessive amount of money and I would check the small print to see if you agreed to such a high admin amount.0 -

Read the above posts regarding using a company and if you haven't heard for more than 6 months from the Clydesdale then if I were you I'd be getting in touch with them.0 -
I have seen adverts for companies such as Banking Refunds who say they are a no win no fee company who will do all the reclaiming . Has anyone experienced anything like this. My son really needs to do something about claiming charges but because he suffers from anxiety and depression I think he would find it hard dealing with correspondence. Are these companies legitimate?0

How about you deal with the correspondence for him? Much better than a bunch of chancers.Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

Don't let him use one of these companies. It's not difficult and if a friend or family member could do it for him all the better. These companies take money which is owed to him by the banks. I'm sure he'd rather give a family member/friend a little cash if they manage to make a successful claim.

Thank you for your replies, I thought the advert for Bankrefund.co.uk said no win no fee. I will think about doing it for him. Thanks again0

It would say no win no fee but if he did it for himself then there would be no fee at all.

Hi Everyone,
I am a newbie and this is my first post
Has anyone used or using Financialclaimsuk.com to claim against bank or credit card charges?
I made a claim (over £9k) against the Woolwich bank last August via the above company. This was before i knew about MSE. I recieved a summary by post in spring this year but nothing since then (also applied for a refund against CC's - much smaller amounts though). I called them today got a dead line. Checked their website and found a new number which i called. When i called it it went through to an indian call centre, who told me that they were the back office and not a call centre. They told me my claim was still in action and i would be emailed or called by someone in the UK to update me.
I am paranoid that things are not right there and do not know what to do now.
Has anyone got any money via this company, or know what is going on.
Should i start again or what should i do?
Please help me
Many Thanks

Advice required: Has anyone been approached by a company called " Bank charge recovery service" who have contacted me and offered to deal with all details to do with recovering my bank charges for a one off fee of £79.99 regardless of amount attempting to be reclaimed? (www.bcrsonline.co.uk) If so would you recommend them or leave things as they are as I have made my claim to the bank but like everyone else awaite the OFT decision. I'm tempted but wonder how far they can go and how succesful.0
