Hi there
I have been thinking of reclaiming my bank charges for sometime now but have just not had time to get all the paperwork together. Today i was approached by a compnay called claims justice who will make the claim on your behalf for a fee of 25% of any money refunded. Has anyone used a company like this ??? Any advice would be great
Thank u0 -
Personally I would steer clear. The claims process is pretty straight forward - a few letters using the templates Martin has provided. Why give a company 25% when you could just buy a few stamps.0

I recently donloaded martins letter templates six weeks ago and have just recieved £1200 back from the halifax, paid in full as a gesture of goodwill on there behalf.0

I set about reclaming my charges in may 2007 as I had no idea then how to do it I instructed a company i found on net. ismart . I signed all there paper work agread to there 25% of my claim charge (as I had no idea how to do it) Since then Ive had only 1 email from them and i called them once . I learn more from this web page than they tell me. Has anyone else used ismart and found this and am I now stuck with them as I now know my claim will net them over £1000. easy money for them for what seems not alot of work.
Now am reading financial hardship and feel I count in that but I no longer have bank acc. with bank im persuing and not sure what to do . Thought I would see responce b4 I called ismart again ???

This company may be legitimate, but their practises are not. I was cold called by them, and told that they could refund my charges due to a recent court ruling (i later find this to be untrue). I am interested, so give some of my details. They manage to get my debit card details off me. I ask them for just an information pack about the company and what it can do for me, and they say this is impossible without paying £50!!!
I then have a supervisor come on the line apparently to confirm some details. this man is an ape. He has no language skills and it becomes clear to me that I am dealing with some kind of bogus operation.
I tell them that I am definately not interested, and for them not to call me again.
One month later I get a call from them early in the morning, and I tell them in no uncertain terms where to go. I tell them I think they are trying to scam me and I do not wish to hear anything from them again. I even go as far as to say to the person on the phone that I dont trust him personally, as well as not trusting the company. I then end the phone call.
I thought that would be the end of it, but last week while I was on holiday I get a txt message telling me that they have charged £50 and I would have my information pack in a week. I was on holiday so forgot about this until today, when I find that yes, they have taken £50.
I contacted lloyds to confirm it was them, and they confirmed. They put me through to the Credit/Debit card dispute line who tell me that because I gave them my card number, then that is sufficent to allow them to charge me???? I dissagree and end my call with Lloyds, starting to get pretty annoyed( I hate lloyds witha burning passion and couldnt imagaine anyone feeling differently, dont know why im still with them)
I phone them up to ask why they have stolen money from me. He tells me that there has obviously been something unlawful going on, but sounds reclusive as if he had guilt in his voice or didnt want any supervisors to hear him.
I says that he will put the complaint to a Q&A department who will listen to my calls to confirm that I asked for no product and all communication to cease, and says they would call me back within 4/5 hours. I am currently waiting for that call now.
DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY. There is no real infastructure. Thier call centre is now seemingly just one man, they are offering no product if you read their website carefully, THEY WILL TELL YOU LIES ON THE TELEPHONE.
I can recall at least 10 different things they have said which are simply not true, and even the same person in the same call will contradict himself with lies.
THEY WILL SAY ANYTHING TO GET YOU TO GO ALONG WITH WHATEVER ACTION THEY INTEND FOR YOU.
BANKING RIGHTS BUREAU = SHAMELESS SCAM

worst thing is, that £50 they took was enough to send me £15 overdrawn for 5 days, incurring about another £100 bank charge. BRB say that they will compensate me for this is they have been found to do anything wrong, but Im not too hopeful about that...
Once I mentioned the extra bank charges I had incurred, then he said they can refund the £50 AND any bank charges, but it sounded as if he was thinking on his feet, and really just trying to get me off the phone0 -
I have used I-smart recently and they worked out I was due £300, as a gesture of goodwill MBNA ended up giving me £418.
However I now have to pay I-smart £153.
The set fee on the £300 is £35 which is fine but they are charging me 100% of the £118 they got extra...
The £418 is coming off my credit card balance instead of me recieving a cheque.....the only problem is that my credit card account is suspended so I can't get to the cash...If I don't find £153 to pay I-smart in 7 days they are adding an admin fee of £150 on top of the £153....
I am a new homeowner and don't have that sort of spare cash....0 -
Hi, i began a process over a year ago to claim my husbands bank charges - it came to a total of £5700 with Clydesdale bank, they wrote to him saying they offered him £200 and he never accepted, i have not heared anyting back since December.
I have a student account with an overdraft and i am a newly qualified teacher, i am in my unauthorised limit only because they keep charging me as i am no longer a student, i am getting £105 charge each week. I wrote to them saying im now a graduate and will have a good job in August and its them charging me that is causing me to be over my limit but they said its my own fault - they should see my student loan was going in each month and now it is not - banks really anger me and i would move to a graduate account but my OD is more with halifax.
My friend has paid £40 to get a company to reclaim on her behalf, i have found a company who charges 10% of final win if successful, and no charge if they are not, i know its just being lazy but i really am not too sure what im doing and feel thatthese companies, although they charge, will have more of a clue than me. Has anyone used these companies before? and can anyone suggest one to use?
Thanks0 -
p.s can i get one of the companies to submit a new clain for my hubby as we have heard nothing back?0

I would check to see what sort of cancellation charge they have, it will be in the small print somewhere that you signed and if you can afford to, cancel the contract with them as this has been going on for more than a year. Had they done their work back in May it should have been completed before July last year.
You would also need to let the bank know that they are no longer dealing with the company and that no more information has to go to them. Did you get the charges information from the bank and pass on to this company or did they do it? If you have the information needed then you can start the claim yourself and include that you feel you come under financial hardship.
