I've had the chest infection too, antibiotics shifted it quickly. I'd just got over it when I got a stomach bug - probably Norovirus as that's going round too.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0

Lisa, as your year at college a horse course? I there chance of followig this up with the next one up? Are you eligable for funding?
I realy o understand your frustration, but have to arn you many smaller livein positions might feel much like life does at home, running round doing the small stuff, and being asked to do some stuff whih verges on not the yard stuff but personal.
.
BUT there are live in positions that would suit you...e.g. my yard is cycleable to at least one town and comutable to an agricultural college t further your education if you chose to do that. ATM, as I'm sure you know, many yards are finding it very hard in the financial climate.(and righty the numerous people living in slightly dodgy caravans is being taken more seriously...some people have lived an worked in conditions that they shuld have had to).
Have you got a profile in places like yard and groom?0 -

I did a course in IT as thought it would help me as that is what a lot of office jobs ask for, I was working at the same time. I wished I had done a course in equestrian management years ago.
I have a profile on yard and groom, I remember where my loan horse was kept one of the grooms lived in a caravan. I can't say I would be too worried about it as long as it was safe and warm.0 -

Its not caravans them selves, its the dodgy working and living conditions people have tolerated for decades. Personally I couldn't employ someone and keep them in appaling conditions, but people do. fwiw, I wouldn't employ someone live in ATm because I wouldn't expect someone to live in the conditions we do!0 -

Hi Lisa, I've not read all your thread, major upheaval's going on at the mo, sorry. But I just wanted to say try not to believe everything your mum says to you! Look up narcissism and goldenchild and scapegoat.
In my family I am/was the goldenchild and my poor sister the scapegoat, as Meritaten says have a read of my previous thread "I don't like my mother" there is so much support, help and information in there.
Good luck with the horses, you NEED something in your life for YOU and I really hope you find the strength to sort your life out now, instead of leaving it as I did till I am nearly 50 lol! xx0 -
Hope you are feeling better - but one thing no-one mentioned.
You are getting a £200 gift from your Dad - £200 worth of freedom for you, that is a huge chunk towards a deposit or with careful shopping a fairly decent scooter to get you mobile. This is a hugely positive thing (and I get what you mean about Dad's moaning about Govt etc - but I just smile sweetly at mine and move on cos its his problem not mine).
You sound at the end of your tether - so YOU need to make your plan of what to do next. Just think where you could be this time next year.
