I sympathise with all of you. My parents contacted the FOS in August with a view to submitting a claim for multiple consolidated loans stretching over 7 years. Lloyds began to investigate it and when my parents contacted them at the start of the month (the 16-week deadline was looming) they were told by a lady called Yvette that it was still under investigation but we'd have a response but the end of the month. They contacted Lloyds again yesterday only to be told that three completed questionnaires they had sent to Lloyds had never been received. Thankfully, they were sent by Recorded Delivery so they have the proof.

My father emailed yesterday, attaching copies of the questionnaires, a copy of the receipt and a long email. He's told them they were incompetent and more concerned with their bottom-line than with customer satisfaction. They're waiting to hear back from them...

Was definitely my sarcastic use of the word "tortoise" in my email to her the other day. Where's marksman I want to know if he's had any progress yet? No funds showing in my account just yet, they best have entered the right details.

My Dad said it's amazing what they can pull their finger out and do when someone of power jumps at them. I'm not a Tory, but I currently love Mike Freer for his help.

I did just have a horrible feeling of guilt that some people might be waiting for longer than I have, but I haven't seen anyone saying pre-8th August on here for awhile. If I've jumped in front of anyone then I'm
Here's hoping we all get paid on the fabulous magic day of Wednesday, wasn't that the magic day everyone was talking about?

Nothing to feel guilty about at all! :)

My MP is hopefully writing to Lloyds today, although I am hoping he uses a different postal service than Lloyds as clearly theirs is lacking somewhat!

I haven't tried calling yet today, my postie usually has an hour or two sat in his van at the end of my road, doing his crossword, drinking coffee and picking his nose...... Generally "promptly" and "shortly" delivering letters.... At least he doesnt lie to me about why there is a delay though, so I hold him in slightly higher esteem than Lloyds......anyway, he gets till midday to walk past and wave since I am positive there will be no letters from Lloyds....again....

    Picking his nose.... :rotfl:and thanks.

Going to call Lloyds today (I know they said they are going to pay me) I want to make doubley sure that they have my HSBC bank details down correctly. Although I do remember asking the man to read them back to me back in September, I don't trust them to have them correctly. The last thing I want is my money to go into someone elses account and then have an even bigger headache.

Funny how they can lose all of my trust. If they'd told me "oh it'll be with you within 16 weeks" then I wouldn't be so disheartened by them.

  • Just got off the phone with the PPI Customer Care dept, was informed by the person that answered the phone that as Lloyds themselves have agreed that the policy was missold as opposed to the FOS that they don't technically 'owe me' the money because they haven't been ordered to pay, instead she claimed it's a 'goodwill gesture' from Lloyds and as such they aren't obliged to pay the money within a set date!

Well that is utter rubbish  Lloyds may call it a goodwill gesture but by agreeing in the first place that the policies were mis-sold, then that infers that they admit that they have a liability to pay us our money back.

IMO it would take more manpower/effort to deal with the actual calculation of refunds than the processing of the payment itself. It is such a joke.

Personally, I think that they are trying to balance the books. If they issue all refunds quickly then it will result in bad quarterly results (probably showing a significant drop in profits which in turn will have an effect on their share price etc), so they are stalling and spreading their liability...
Just give us our money back
  • Called again today, spoke to a very nice welsh lady who said that they only deal with the calculations and send off for payment, it should be imminent as this is a second calculation and it is a priority!! As the 2nd letter states 28th November we should have our cheque by then, if not they can then request an investigation but until then there is nothing the PPI department can really do, but wait. She did confirm that our old account is dead and the money will not go there and we would receive a cheque.

Glad I will be back at work tomorrow - though no Christmas shopping done as had planned, no stalking the postman, I bet he is glad!!
  • So i received my letter saying we would like to offer you the money back and not to do anything, that the money will be placed into your bank account.

I rang and asked them how long this will take, they said it will be as soon as they can, i asked am i looking weeks months, they said as soon as they can. I said this isnt good enough. They took 16weeks to respond and now have no idea when the money will be into my bank account. I am so angry why should we have to suffer just because they have a back log and then not give any time scale because they havent got enough staff. Thats not my problem and i wanted to make a compliant but not sure who to complain to. When i spoke to them i kept informing them they wasnt answering my question i said how long they said soon. I said this wasnt an answer.

Any ideas who i need to speak to? Why should we be held up for our money just because they are busy. Thats not my fault and i dont think i should just sit back and wait because they have had 16weeks to reply and now whatever time to put my money in my back, i accept the 16weeks but transfering money should be given a time scale

Was it someone on the phone that told you this or incompetent Barry herself? I can't remember who you said it was previously.

That is horrendous! I cannot believe, even after everything I have been told by Lloyds and everything I read on here, that they are continuing to get away with this!!!

Did you have an email or was the info passed in a phone call?

I have started to record all my calls to Lloyds so they cannot deny what has been said!

Feel really bad for you! :(
