Was definitely my sarcastic use of the word "tortoise" in my email to her the other day. Where's marksman I want to know if he's had any progress yet? No funds showing in my account just yet, they best have entered the right details.

My Dad said it's amazing what they can pull their finger out and do when someone of power jumps at them. I'm not a Tory, but I currently love Mike Freer for his help.

I did just have a horrible feeling of guilt that some people might be waiting for longer than I have, but I haven't seen anyone saying pre-8th August on here for awhile. If I've jumped in front of anyone then I'm truely sorry.

Here's hoping we all get paid on the fabulous magic day of Wednesday, wasn't that the magic day everyone was talking about?

Don't feel guilty kerri, a success is a success, you have no control over the methods and time scales of re payment but you kept the pressure on to the best of your ability and it paid off, well done and I'm sure everyone on here is happy for you, hope you get YOUR cash ASAP, you deserve it. Have a great Christmas. I love a good result :j:j:beer:;)

  • D day is upon us:

    1. All of our letters should have arrived by today OR
    2. The phone lines are about to go into meltdown when they fail to arrive.

  • Just to let everyone know that I contacted HMRC last night and yes you do get taxed on the 8% interest. They tried to make me do a self assessment in April next year however I asked if my tax code could be adjusted as per a recent news piece I had read. They agreed and the tax will now be paid from my salary otherwise I would have had to pay over £700 straight out in April. I must remember though to check my tax code reverts back in 12 months time!! Make sure everyone contacts HMRC when you receive your funds otherwise when they do find out you could be liaible for a fine on top of the tax. The total 8% interest on my refund of £17k was £3500k. Best of luck xx
  • Just got off the phone with the PPI Customer Care dept, was informed by the person that answered the phone that as Lloyds themselves have agreed that the policy was missold as opposed to the FOS that they don't technically 'owe me' the money because they haven't been ordered to pay, instead she claimed it's a 'goodwill gesture' from Lloyds and as such they aren't obliged to pay the money within a set date!

Fortunately (or perhaps unfortunately) my saga is just beginning having only received my offer three weeks ago, how the people who have been waiting months for there payments are feeling I dread to think!

HMRC must have the same customer service training as LLoyds!

When I called the lady said I might have to pay tax on the interest but would have to send in copies of the letters LLoyds sent me in order for them to inspect and get back to me. No sorting it out over the phone unfortunately so details in the post.

What she did say however was that Lloyds had definitely not bothered to communicate with HMRC in my case as they had no record of any such payment being made. Then again maybe Lloyds will write to HMRC "shortly" ;-)

No Letter. No Money. No help from Lloyds

( I should have that saved as I seem to type it every day)

Despite being told not to ring back today, we did :p, to be told what we had yesterday; that someone had emailed the team to resend the mysterious letter and the money should be with us "any day now" at least they've stopped giving out definitive timelines and are just going with something creative today:rotfl:"Have you checked your balance today?" Er yes believe it not.

I don't give a !!!! about the sodding letter, that's just a stalling tactic - "the letter will take up to ten working days to arrive and that will have your details on" we just want our money!
