I have just arrived home and found a letter from Lloyds TSB upholding 4 loans with PPI, including one from the 90s. They have offered £14,500 so I am very pleased. I started the process in early December. I realise that I might have to wait a while for my money but I am not too bothered about that. The main thing is that I've had a success.

I have also previously received £2025 from Halifax. I am still waiting to hear about another couple of very small claims.

Good luck to all those people who are still waiting. Thank you to the good people on this forum who have advised and provided support and a huge THANK YOU to Martin. Without him I would never have complained or received a penny, let alone £16,500. :j
    Congratulations!!:j
If you nag them enough, they know they are in the wrong and own up in the end!;)
Don't forget as you know you may be in for a wait for the money, but you know now what to do. Good luck and hope you get your money!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Yeah, definately send a letter rather than an email. Emails can get lost and they can deny they've recieved it (plus Lloyds seem to be de-activating the personal email addresses - Miss Barry's certainly no longer works and now bounces back as undeliverable - hers seem to come from the general customer "care" email address now.

If you send it in writing, they can't really ignore it.
Talk about cowards! They must know by now that their names and email addresses are being passed on through various forums and other places!
Time to send another letter or 2, recorded delivery of course, and see what happens. This is getting ridiculous now, losing my patience quickly! Maybe when this fiasco is over, time to switch banks I think.;)
  • I'm now going to ask like a newby but what is the routine for requesting details of how to claim ppi back. I cannot find anything to say I'm paying but is it likely they could have amalgamated into the other charges?
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

Check your monthly statement - it should clearly state if there is PPI being paid.

If you don't have a monthly statement, or you're think your statement may not be breaking down the details of your monthly payment, then you can write to your bank asking for a "Data Subject Access Request" - but this costs £10.

That Data Subject Access Request then has details of EVERYTHING the bank have on your records - loans, credit cards, PPI payments - even dates of when you've phoned or written to the bank.

You may even find a loan or credit card from years ago that you've forgotten about that may have had PPI included - so then you can claim that back too.

Exactly! Its too much hassle to reply to hundreds of complaining people - its far easier to disable the email addresses instead and ignore the problem.

Thanks for the help, I presume that my bank account number and name should be sufficient to get this or should I send other identifying bits?

  • I have been waiting for my refund since the beginning of
Dec 2011, and have noticed today that my current loan (without PPI) has a large minus figure, when I have another 12 months to pay.

    Anyone know what this means??
  • Just noticed (missed it for 25 years Doh) that I seem to be paying £7 a month for buildings insurance, I assume it was in the first year and has been rolling on each year, is this covered in the scheme?

  • been browsing for awhile but being the eternal optimist I always thought that my money would be paid in tomorrow, but we know tomorow never comes and how true is that with lloydstsb.

Anyway my story. Made claim in april last year, got reply may 26th acknowledging claim.
letter 24th june update on progress, responding within 16 weeks of complaint.

24th august thank you for patience give me an offer. accept.

    27th oct amount i'll receive.

letter 24th nov referrring to letter (i never received from 7/11) another offer recalculating intertest.

receive part payment round about the time time of letter dated 24th nov.

since then nothing. despite numerous phonecallls, standard reply your claim has been escalated. said to them i know of people whove been paid and settled within weeks. nothing they can do they say. one woman even said why dont i not phone for a few weeks because it obviously gets me wound up phoning them. threatebned to leave lloyds, thats my perogative they say, but they wouldnt advise it has it could delay my payment. I say well whats a few more months going to do.

went into my bank said i want to move ok they say lets get the ball rollingh, i said don't you wann know why i want to move. not really they say.

i'm just hacked off with the whole damn thing and when i read about people on here being sorted within a few weeks it winds me up even more.
