    the older loans you can still claim on but unless you have paperwork the usually pay out standard amount of £1200 per loan unless you can prove it was worth more

    Do they always pay £1200 when there is no paperwork from loans going back to the 90s? Apparently I am not being paid anything for 3 loans from the 90s despite neither Lloyds or myself having PPI. I am going to challenge it but it would be useful to have all the facts from others. I provided them with loan numbers and dates when loans were opened. Thanks.
  • Now that i've had my PPI refunded for my loans, i've started opening complaints about my 2 credit cards.

    Once complaint for one card has been opened for 2 weeks - no problems there.

    I went to open a new complaint about my other credit card on Friday, but I was told that this card account didn't have PPI on it.

    The problem now is that this is the only card that I don't have any paperwork for. When I sent for a DSAR request in September, Lloyds TSB supplied paperwork for every account except this one - saying that it was that old, they no longer had any paperwork for it as it was destroyed years ago. It was my first credit card that I opened - and i'm not actually sure whether it had PPI or not (although I suspect that it did, because every other account i've had with Lloyds TSB has had PPI).

    The problem is, all that I have is an account number. Lloyds said that I didn't have PPI, whereas I suspect I did - but with no proof, where do I stand? Also, if Lloyds have no paperwork for this account then how do they know that I didn't have PPI?
  • Well it would seem that I have finally been paid the remaining money owed to me, roughly 7k. Very pleased but somewhat drained from the process - my original offer letter was dated 21st September.

    No formal paperwork yet from Lloyds, one thing I am unsure about is my open loan has a balance that has jumped to more than double what it was, but the monthly payment has dropped which I think is due to the removal of PPI, maybe it takes a day or two for this to fully resolve.

    To all those waiting still waiting I hope your payments are made more promptly than mine was!
  • Delighted to see that bonuses for Lloyds are being clawed back over PPI!

    Lloyds takes back £2m of bonuses paid to executives

    Lloyds is the first UK bank to take back bonuses following a worse-than-expected performance
    Lloyds Banking Group is taking back bonuses worth £2m from 10 executives, including the former chief executive Eric Daniels, the BBC has learned.
    Four of those affected were board directors.
    Mr Daniels is expected to lose between 40% and 50% of a £1.45m bonus, or between £600,000 and £700,000.
    BBC business editor Robert Peston says they are being penalised over their role in the mis-selling of payment protection insurance (PPI).

    my mum received a letter today confirming her complaint. Her main reasons were ppi not explained properly at point of sale as it was just added to loan/credit card. She was never told it was optional. Does she need to include anything else? As it was never discussed in detail I feel that she was never given enough information to make an informed decision, and as it wasnt explained it was optional she was never informed she could buy it somewhere else. Do you think she needs to go into more detail with her reasons?

    No, that will be more than enough. To be honest, when I opened my first complaint, they never even asked any reasons.

    I think Lloyds are openly paying up now - they don't seem to be questioning things to much unless someone is blatantly trying it on.

    thanks for your help. The more I look into my mums circumstances the worse it gets with regards to PPI that she has paid that she didnt even know about! How long did it take for Lloyds to sort your claim out? Im new to all this and its definately a shock to the system when you start looking into everything. Fingers crossed everyone will get money that they are owed.

    Lloyds TSB took 4 months with my claim - although after reading all the horror stories on this thread, I made sure I wasn't going to be one of those people waiting for 9 months to be paid - so I put pressure on them after the third month by threatening them with court action - and then they paid up by the deadline that I set them.

    Its shocking how the banks think they can treat us.

    I had a loan from the 90's also with no paperwork but i i had as much info as i could from Equifax from my credit history but i knew the amount of the loan i had and how much i paid back.
    I had the loan number also, which you have and dates, but maybe if you could give them the amount you had and the amount you paid back or the monthly payments, they may be able to advise more? I also gave them the previous address which i lived at while having the loan.
    There are a lot of people on here who have ahd something back from over 6 years years ago and had something.
