LloydsTSB PPI Payment

  • I also received my cheque from LTSB yesterday after receiving my offer letter in December.....:j

My claim went in during November 2010 and was being dealt with by the FOS, but as neither Lloyds nor I had any supporting paperwork (the loan dated from early 1990s) I ended up accepting an offer of £1200.

Luckily I have only one more LTSB PPI complaint to put in (for DH), having already successfully reclaimed in excess of £16k in mis-sold PPI from Lloyds in total :T

Hopefully the rest of you guys still waiting won't have to wait too much longer........

Glad to hear that you have been paid out. Can I ask a question please? You said that neither you nor Lloyds had any supporting documents and the loans were from 1990s. Did you complain to Lloyds initially and did they reject it? I'm assuming this is the case since you took your complaint to FOS. Was it FOS who got you the £1200? Sorry to ask all these questions. I am having problems with Lloyds (surprise, surprise). I have 3 loans from 1990s and they are saying that I had no PPI. I know that I did. I have requested paperwork and they couldn't supply it so how can they say that I had no PPI? Thanks in advance.

Hi Shirleyk, All as my letter said was they were not taking my claim any further as I never had any PPI on my loan. I just phoned them up and they had a look at their system and said that it was a mistake on their part as they could see that I did indeed have PPI, so they would open the claim again. They never offered me any money though! Exactly the same happened to my sister a few months later, and she just done the same as me. My loan was from the 2000's. Hope this all helps! :)

So they sent you the letter saying that you had no PPI and they wouldn't be taking it any further. You then called them and they said it was a mistake and they then paid you the money. Is that correct? So, did they do the same to your sister? It is all so frustrating. Apparently they sent letters to me on 26 January and I'm still waiting. So many people are being told the same thing. I'm not convinced they are actually sending letters to people. How can all these letters get lost in the post?????
  • seems like were all just being fobbed off in one way or another!!

they done the same to me but my 2 claims for cc got upheld in august signed the acceptance slip and was waiting for the calculations only to be told 3 weeks later that they made a mistake i never had ppi in the first place i have no paperwork to go on i went straight to the FOS with this i know its gonna take a while but i haven't got the patience to take on these bunch of idiots its been with them for 4 months now i suggest you do the same there is no point making yourself ill over this the FOS don't take sides they look on factsthey will make a fair decision good luck with whatever you decide to do

Yeah that is exactly what they done! I knew I had PPI though as I had kept the policy documents. I received the letter in the May saying I did not have PPI (thats when I phoned them) and then received an offer letter in July and told the money would be in my account in 21 days, 3 months and no money later (after lots and lots of phonecalls) I received another letter with a revised amount in October, when I called about this I was told to ignore everything I was told before the October letter as this was also a mistake, and I only got my money on Thursday, so as you can see I was messed about a lot! My sister received exactly the same letter about not having PPI (again she had kept the documents) and she got her offer letter a couple of months after that and got paid in October.

Hope you manage to get everything sorted! :)

Thank you :) Yes, I originally complained back in 2010 but as Lloyds said they had no supporting docs they rejected my complaint. I only had the account number but I remember being told I had to have the PPI to get the loan. It went to the FOS and they managed to get an offer of £1200 out of Lloyds, which is apparently their standard offer if no paperwork exists. I hoped to find the original docs when we moved last spring, but was unlucky so after some deliberation I accepted their offer last autumn.

Do you have your loan account numbers at all? If not it might be worth doing a DSAR......

When I did a DSAR to Lloyds back in 2009 they sent me paperwork going back ten years, but although there was obviously nothing relating to the older loan, they did supply a list of all the loans I had taken out over the years so I had the account number if nothing else ;)

DH also received two refunds of £1200 from Lloyds on old loans from the '90s where they had no record of how much PPI he had paid, but in those cases we did have a little more evidence in the form of a couple of old statements.

Hope this helps and you have success eventually :)
