LloydsTSB PPI Payment

  • Can the forum users help me please? I have add several loans with Lloyds TSB over the years: three of the loans were from the 1990s. I contacted Lloyds TSB and was advised that they could not supply me with paperwork going that far back. I found out the loan numbers and made a complaint as I knew I had PPI. I discovered today that they are not going to pay me anything for these loans "as I did not have PPI". How can they say that when they do not have paperwork and I know that I had PPI. I believed that people in this position were paid £1200 as a "gesture of goodwill". Is that not the case? Can someone clarify and let me know what I should do? Thanks.
  • I've decided to just sit and wait for it now, well for another month or so, fed up of calling/emailing etc, doesn't seem to be getting me anywhere, call centre staff are about as useful as an ashtary on a motorbike

    Initial letter sent 09/11/2011.
Offer letter rec'd 28th Dec calculated til 6th Jan
Both cheques arrive 10/02/2012, which isn't so bad as we were expecting a long wait.

For those who are still waiting, I hope they cough up soon
  • I'm in shock!!! Post came today with two letters from LloydsTSB both contained cheques dated 8th Feb.

Offer letter was dated 29 Dec 11 but never received told interest calculated to 26 Jan so guess not a bad result in terms of waiting.

Was on the phone to their PPI "help"line yesterday giving them loads of aggro over non payment and they said money would go straight into our LloydsTSB bank account but couldn't say when. Just shows that LloydsTSB don't know their *rse from their elbow
  • OMG the post has just arrived and ive got my cheque!!!! Yippee - although they do say the complaint is now closed and yet they're still looking into another one on the same complaint but i'll ring them monday - good luck everyone else still waiting!!

    Hi, and welcome!
I also had a couple of loans from the 1990's and like you had no paperwork. I found my loan numbers through Equifax. I sent my PPI questionnaire to them with the loan numbers saying I did have PPI and the amounts of the loans and how much I roughly paid back to them. I've had letters back from them confirming I did have loans from then and hav since had offers of money back, so you can try and claim. I'm just awaiting payment now from them and some credit cards! Good look in advance, be patient but you will get there in the end!:)
