LloydsTSB PPI Payment

I'm pretty sure that if a cheque is Lloyds to Lloyds (or Barclays to Barclays, HSBC to HSBC, etc) then 95% of the time, it clears in 2 days. I think they say up to 5 days just incase there's a delay.0

Hi I have been reading the posts on here for the last few weeks with interest and see that there are a lot of people in the same position as me, I started my PPI claim with Lloyds TSB in June last year, received my letter dated 28th September 2011 confirming amount and that cheque would be sent out shortly, still waiting 127 days later !!
After many calls and same answer by the call staff and no further letters received from Lloyds. I decided to write to them by recorded delivery advising that if I did not hear from them in 14 days I will go to the Ombudsman, hopefully that may
I still have 2 other claims that I called in November and should have had a response to this week, no letters received as yet. The service is really bad considering they are a big high street bank.0 -
Lloyds TSB are going to hate me (if they don't already) - now that i've recieved the PPI refund for my loans, i've opened up a new complaint tonight to get the PPI back from my old credit cards.
The same will apply - as soon as they acknowledge that they owe me money, i'll wait for one month and then go down exactly the same route as I did to get my loan refund back! :rotfl:0 -

At last!! Have still been checking my Lloyds account twice daily. Finally got paid today. £14k around 3pm by Faster Payment.
Have been chasing every 2 weeks, dont think it made any difference at all.
Offer letter 9 October 2011.

You no longer have to go to court "in person" to begin a case. The government have simplified the process, and you can now do it from the comfort of your own home.
You can begin your court claim by using 'Money Claim Online' - https://www.moneyclaim.gov.uk/web/mcol/welcome
I strongly urge you to read the following tips page that tells you how to reclaim PPI here: http://www.claimbankchargesback.co.uk/complete-guide-to-using-money-claim-online
I hope that helps and you all have some success. I didn't have to take mine to court - by the time Lloyds TSB had recieved my letters, they sent me a cheque in the post the same day that they recieved my letter! (probably because they knew that I had backed them into a dead-end, and they had to pay up - or face additional charges in court).0 -

Its worth a try if you've been waiting for that long. It worked for me.
If they've sent you an offer letter, then that is basically proof that they owe you money (and a court would probably see that as an admission that they've mis-sold you PPI) - therefore, that would/should be your evidence to win your court case.
So, by sending the template letters above, you're basically backing Lloyds TSB into a corner - pay up, or go to court and be forced to pay up anyway.
Also, by sending your letters by post, they have to be treated as formal complaints and have to be acted upon within, I believe, 40 days - whereas they don't have to with emails - hence why they don't respond very quickly. They know they don't have to. They don't even have to reply at all if they don't want to (which is why they don't respond to some people).
Remember, just be fair and firm - but polite. Don't use any wording/language that could be viewed as abusive/bullying/harrassment, otherwise it will not work in your favour. If you back them into a corner fairly, then you should get your refund within your deadline hopefully.
Also be fair with your deadline. Give them at least three weeks notice. The court should see that as fair should you need to take it that fair. Obviously, sending a letter on Friday, with a deadline 3 days after that would be unfair.
Good luck0
