My husband received a letter beginning of September 2011 to state that his claim for PPI was upheld (the standard letter everyone received). Called up to accept offer and told to do nothing and wait for payment which would be made within weeks.

I was told by the same person that my money would go into my account last weekend too. It never did. Then I was informed that there was a problem and my BACs payment had failed in error. They do pay by BACs - even for internal Lloyds accounts.

You have to just keep on complaining and complaining. Phone up and say that your were asked to call back today because there was meant to be an update on your account (i.e. in their call center tracking system where they log your whole account history). Also email everyone every day ... be firm but pleasant. I am sending you a PM with all the email addresses I have used. I have not been paid but have been promised it will come tomorrow ... (I actually do not beleive it but if it makes them feel better for a day or too!)
  • Hi Lloydstsb_ppi thanks for the pm but we have done allllllll that.
    Completely exhausted all resources now.
Oh and just to keep you all updated, Still no phone call from the scarlet pimpernal so this is now day two of yet more ignorance.

That's the thing we have been doing that constantly hence almost a £90 phone bill which they will be paying back and also on the advise of the fsa and other legal teams to email etc.
It's such a sad state of affairs when a company like Lloyds can cause people so much upset and illness through their own actions and then not take responsibility.
It's just been a complete nightmare
  • Well I have tired to get more answers today and still they are not able to tell me anything. I feel so let down by Lloyds with this matter that me and all my family are going to be moving banks once we have our refund through! I am just so sick and tired of not getting any answers or any updates from them. The PPI customer service department are usless and i feel that for such a big bank this department is just a waste of space. They don't care what the hell they tell you!!!!

Same here. I also phoned up earlier today and was told to "keep checking my account". I also made them aware of this topic on this forum - to which they replied with "they are aware of delays - however, some people are being paid very quickly - others are being delayed due to the backlog".

After that phone call, I recieved a bank statement in the post - with an extra page stating that I have used my overdraft this month, so there will be a £5 overdraft usage fee, plus an extra £6.25 of interest/additional charges - £11.25 in total.

I told them that I want this fee wiped from my account because, had I recieved my PPI payment, I would not have had to use my overdraft facility. Her reply was "We can't wipe these fees from your account. You agreed to the terms and conditions when you agreed an overdraft facility - and PPI refunds should not be relied upon to pay bills, etc".

Excuse me Lloyds TSB? This is MY PPI money, and i'll use it to do what the hell I like with.

Needless to say, I am now in the process of writing a letter to my bank demanding that my PPI money is paid, in full, to me by the 15th of February otherwise I shall be taking legal action.

They're quick enough at telling me when my overdraft fees will be taken out of my account (the letter said 2nd February exactly) - so i'm telling them when I want my money. It works both ways. If they've not paid up by 15th February, I will talk to my solicitor about the next step of action to get my money from Lloyds - and I shall be writing to the FSA to see where I stand about getting my overdraft charges back too.
  • I am the same. Used More money over Christmas & New Yar expecting to be paid on time (10th Jan) still nothing. In my over draught and they will want my Credit card paying which would have been done had i got the PPI Money but they can think again! I don't think they realise how much anger they are creating with this. I am mean it must be more cost effective to get extra people in to clear the backlog rather than having to pay people extra interest???? It is just making me so mad and it's getting to the stage now were it is getting me down and making ill!!!!!

Well i really hope you get somewhere with the legal action. We have threatened it and they just don't take any notice. Also the FSA fingers crossed. It's seemed to me that from day one Lloyds are very smart and know exactly what they are doing and where they stand law wise. Why do you think they have been able to mess around so many people for so long.

There's a difference between threatening it and doing it though - I shall be doing it if my money is not in my bank by the 15th February.

As soon as they send a letter to people stating that they've mis-sold PPI, then they've admitted to recieving money that isn't theirs - ie, agreed that it is OUR money - so legally, I can't see how they can try to defend it if legal action is taken as its no longer their money to "defend".
  • Has anybody had any cheques from lloydstsb this year yet. We are waiting for 2 both credit cards.interest paid up to 17th and 18th jan but nothing as yet.
    Any advice please.
