LloydsTSB PPI Payment

  • My Lloyds experience......
Put in two claims by phone (had no details, just said that I thought I had PPI on these accounts that were both closed in 2007) Sep 22nd, upheld letters arrive 1 week apart mid December. Loan repayment calculated and paid within a week of receiving upheld letter, CC letter arrived a few days later advising a cheque would be paid but nothing since......

My letters have no information about how figures have been arrived at. I did not question the loan repayment amount as assumed it would be easy to work out but the cc figure seems to be a random amount with no explanation. Should I challenge the figures for the CC repayment? The card went back to around 2002 so I'm aware they don't have to have kept records but as I have none either I think I probably have to accept the amount they are offering.

Anyway, point of story - two PPI claims with LLoyds, one went swimmingly quickly with no problems and the other doesn't seem to be, and after reading your posts on here it appears there is no rhyme or reason in what to expect, just that its a world of its own there in LLoyds PPI reclaims dept!!
  • we were expecting a cheque with interest paid up to today but nothing.it seems that there is a general slow down of paying out by lloydstsb.makes u wonder when we will get paid we are loathe to keep pestering them by ringing as i do feel does not help but there is a limit i suppose to how long you wait.we found on a couple of previous claims they came in without any hassle.
has anybody had cheques from them this year?
we were paid by bacs for our loans ppi claim in december so why a cheque for c/cards.
    any thoughts please.
  • Completely infuriated with Lloyds! Original claim went in begin Aug, received letter on 21st Nov confirming amount we were owed and letter states payment would be made within 21 days... still waiting 4 calls t them and each person seems to say the same thing we aren't able to give you a specific date of when you will be paid... with the exception of a girl who stated when I spoke to her on 11th Jan payment would be made within 5 - 10 days... call again yesterday and the guy stated she should never have said and I don't think she would have!!!! I'm not a liar but it really does seem they will tell you anything to get you off the phone, I would just like th 3.5k they owe us! Quick enough to take money from us aren't they!
  • Oooooooo, no I haven't maggy! Thanks for that, I will give that ago.
  • Just checking in to say surprise surprise still waiting...
Here is a brief recap of my timeline:

Offer letter received = 21st Sept 2011 (interest to end October)
Part Payment (approx third due to open loan) = 8th December 2011
Recalcs letter received = 9th December (Interest to 3rd January)

Still waiting on just short of 7K.

Numerous calls since the interest to date has passed. Little progress made other than tying myself up in knots.

Probably time I sent an written update letter to my MP who has been involved, and thinks Lloyds are all square with me - when in fact they are far from it. Apparently its being dealt with by the more senior management... I should bl**dy hope so too!

One twist is that because nothing has happened with my open loan, they are unable to give me a settlement figure, which means you can't pay my loan off even if I wanted to... I wouldn't have thought this is allowed/legal?

Anyway, hopefully it will be a wonderful Wednesday for many this week ;-)
  • 1st Offer letter Oct 2nd. Interest calc up to 31st Oct.
Recalc letter Dec 6th. Interest calc up to Dec 31st.
Emailed the LTSB team (not saying names as my post got redacted last time - but it's obvious).
1st Email reply - "I would expect the funds to be in your account by 30 December 2011."
2nd Email reply - "I can confirm that the payment will reach your account between 13 – 16 January 2012"

Numerous phonecalls to the PPI helpdesk and not really much resolution as still not paid. The classic response was today when i was told "To be honest Sir it looks like there has been no payment made on this account at all still. Sorry about that!".

I have no active loans or CC with LTSB just a current and savings account for over 20 years ... for how much longer who knows!

    Thats my story.

i have been told that a chaps payment was sent at 15.10 on friday the 13th but still no money in my account i rang them but keep getting told could go in any time keep checking your account they said that it had been noted down as a chaps payment but could be a bacs but it still should have reahed my account by now even if the bacs payment was sent on monday ??? they told me to call back if its not in my account by 5 today anybody else having this problem ive been waiting since august for my payment so getting really annoyed now
  • From my understanding, which is only piecing together feedback on this forum and my own conversations with numerous staff at Lloyds - Chaps is a real time payment, so same day (although a few pages back someone was saying lloyds are not doing this anymore, and its all BACS).

BACS take Lloyds 5 working days, but I've been told on at least two occasions with my claim that payment HAD been made with expected money in dates, only for nothing to arrive. Payment received was by CHAPS and on the instruction of the ringmaster herself (apparently)

    But here is the pinch...

There seems to be a void between payment being actioned/instructed and payment actually happening. So payment gets approved and then proceeds to sitting in a cue (no timescales) while it actually then awaits being processed.

Sound about right? if anyone has any other insight feel free to put me right ;-)

that would sound about right i wouldnt mind waiting as long as they actually told me the truth one guy even told me he had the chaps receipt infront of him to say when it was sent but when i mentioned this they said she had no idea where he would have got that from thank you for ur reply
  • Nothing still today. Yep. I had the same "I can see your CHAPS receipt here" and that was on the 29th Dec.

Plus I have been told they no longer do the CHAPS to transfer ... it's BACs. Still thats the slowest BACs I've ever heard of .... sods the lot of them.
