I still have no repayment. I went into a local Lloyds branch and they rang up for me and they were advised that they are not able to chase untill the payment is 28 days late. Why was i never told this?? I am currently draughting a letter of complaint to them and i am really considering pulling all my Lloyds accounts along with other mebers of my family as they have also had enough of the lies they are being told.

Where does the law stand on taking the bank to court over this?

At the end of the day, if we go overdrawn, they send us a snotty letter saying that they'll take X amount in bank charges with one calendar month - and we have to pay it.

If thats the case, why shouldn't the same rule apply the other way round - if they owe us OUR money, we should expect it within a reasonable time too.

Perhaps we should also charge them a £30 "admin fee" every time we send a letter chasing our money too - after all, they charge us every time they send us a letter about unauthorised overdrafts.

My claim was made in early June last year and offer letter received in September. I had a small payment around the 13th December, but I am still waiting for the bulk of it. I have given up calling the call centre as I am fed up with spending a lot of money on calls just to be told the same thing again and again e.g. backlog, huge volumes etc.
  • Still waiting, close to 100 working days since calculation letter.

Is there nothing that can be done in small claims court? What do the new timescales mean (from January 1st they can only take 8 weeks)?
  • I remember a case in the newspaper where a person obtained a court order as the bank owed him overpayments to his mortage. He hired a van and went to his local branch as soon as they opened up. He asked for the manager and gave them the court order for the monies that were owed to him, if they did not make payment he was going to seize their computers and office equipment.....I believe he got the court order due to the bank stalling to make payment/and him making numerous attempts to recover the monies etc.

The press turned up and the well know bank soon signed a cheque for over £15,000...
