Speak to a solicitor. One letter from a solicitor to your bank might just be enough to make them crap themselves into paying.

That won't make one bit of difference! They couldn't careless who wrote to them they are a law unto themselves. They know that if you go the small claims or FOS route they will be able to take even longer to pay you!
  • i emailed them friday 6th jan giving them 7 days to make payment otherwise i will issue them with county court summons. had a call very next days saying there is no need to do that they was working hard to clear blacklog payment will be made soon . been phoning everyday this week to check progress was told today friday 13th they are sending payment via chaps and i will have it within 5day {did phone back afterwards to make sure i wasnt hearing things } also go extra £5,000 from other loans that wasnt on the recalation letter . i am waiting for a balance check via text to come through to show in my account
  • A chaps payment should be instant, so it will not take 5 days to reach your account, meaning if they said to you last night the funds should be in your account now.....good luck!

My claim has interest recalculated up to the 18th January (this year), so cannot wait to see how long it takes them to pay me, i received my loan claims really quickly but i believe card claims are taking considerably longer

    Has anyone been paid today??????
  • ok just got off the phone spoke to someone who was quite helpful
they are paying out in batches
    thousands went out before christmas
they are waiting for the next lot to go out
the helpline can only help if there are mistakes to be delt with
my claim is correct so its just a case of being stuck in the backlog
its not in the banks interest not to clear this mess up as quickly as possible
they cannot give pay dates because they dont know them
and so would be wrong for them to guess (which i think a lot of them do)

I have been ringing daily think im gonna sit tight and wait
    dont think ringing up helps
hopefully wont be waiting much longer

Well I got a surprise email from [text removed by MSE Forum Team - please don't post personal details] yesterday letting me know that she was sorry for all the problems - which was actually quite touching - considering I had only emailed her a day before - so great turnaround.

Confirmed payment will reach account by 13 to 16th January - basically Friday or Monday. Was not today so probably on Monday now - I hope! (And yes I am not taking this as the word of God just yet!)

Sounds like BACs to me and not CHAPs. Ali - I was told this week that the CHAPs payments did indeed stop at the end of last year.

    Good luck to all.

I wouldn't be that touched, I too had an email from AvB "herself", bet ours said near enough the same thing :D

Probably said the same ... but the timeline was just stupid and actually concerned me, as it looked like it was one of those 1 to 4 working days timeline but with the weekend left in it!

I did get this little snippet though. It confirms everyone's worst fears about complaining even more once they go pass the interest calculation dates:

"I appreciate your interest was calculated up to 30 December 2011, I do not want to delay your payment further by stopping the transaction and therefore have raised a cheque payment for the amount of £10.00 to cover the additional interest ."

I wonder which will arrive first - the 7.5k they owe me or the 10 quid?

    :rotfl:
