Does anyone know if I can issue a County Court Summons on Lloyds for my PPI money?
  • Hi all sorry for being lazy and not reading all of this thread but wanted to know how long it is taking you to get your cheques.

I got a letter on 7th december with my offer. The letter said i didnt need to reply and i would receive a cheque within 21 days (sounds the same as most of you). I did phone them on the 17th just to make sure i didnt need to reply as that seemed odd to me and i was told i wouldnt get a cheque the money would be payed direct into my account so all over christmas i kept checking my account but of course NOTHING:mad:. I phoned yesterday to see if i could push it along and i got told i would get a cheque soon and that i was never told it would go direct into my bank. OMG was i angry when they said that, did they think i was fibbing:mad:

So how long am i expected to wait?? Anyone else get their offer about the same time as me.

I really don't know what to make of all of the whole mess.....

I put my claim in at the beginning of October for 2 loans and 1 c/c and was advised it would be a minimum 12-16 weeks before i even had a response.

I checked my bank on the 20th December to see just how poor i was before i did the xmas food shop (didn't fancy going over the overdraft), i nearly fell off the computer chair when i saw i had been paid :j

At this point i hadn't received any correspondence apart from their original acknowledgement saying they had opened the claim, i rang the number on the letter to ask if the payment was for all 3 claims. I was advised it was for the 2 loans and that as far as the card claim i would receive a decision soon!!!!!!

On 23rd December i received their letter dated 7th December :( saying they were paying me for the 2 loans and the amount and that it would be paid by BACS into my account (lloyds).

On the 27th December i received another letter dated 19th December saying they were paying my c/c claim and again it would be in my account soon, although i am still waiting for this to appear and i am checking my account 3-4 times a day. So no idea how long it will be before i receive that.

I realise i am extremely lucky to have had the first lot sorted out so quickly, it was just under 12 weeks for them to pay out. But my anger here is for the masses of people who have had their claims in since the middle of last year and have still not been paid, how can that be so????????

Lloyds ought to be ashamed, i am sure they have left a lot of people desperate and without over christmas as they haven't managed to pay the people who have been waiting the longest, i hope they fall on their knees once this whole sorry mess has been sorted out!

Good luck to anyone still waiting and i hope you receive YOUR money very soon!

Although I received one payment on the 13th December (offer letters dated 22nd September), I am still waiting for the remainder of my refund. I called Lloyds last week and was told the same as usual; they are working on it, there is no timescale, just be patient and my money will be with me soon. When the person at the call centre confirmed the amount I would be receiving, she said there wouldn't any any extra added for inconvenience. I am happy with this as I just want what I am owed, pay off my loan and close my account.
  • Been a while posting, apologies... The fiasco continues!

    Update:
    - Offer letter 21st September
    - Emails / Twice weekly calls / MP involvement every week
    - Part payment received 8th December (roughly a third of whats owed)
    - Recalc letter arrived a day or so after with new figures to the 3rd of Jan

Still awaiting refund of almost 7K.

Last correspondance was that the remainder was going to the loans department to restructure my open loan and this usually takes 10 working days but can go up to 21 working days...

Called for an update yesterday since the interest cal ended on the 3rd.
Loan dept have not received any money and know nothing, apparently the PPI dept have not been sending the funds in the correct money so its not being received and the payment bounces back to them, they don't check and consider it sent.
The two departments are, and I quote "in dispute with each other over the money".
This was slightly better information than in the morning where I was told they did not know where the money was and that it was lost in the system!

Great. I did explain that whilst the inner workings of Lloyds is all very interesting, what was more important is that the money owed comes back to me and they can resolve their issues in their own time.

The waiting continues. In the meantime they are hammering me on bank charges that would/could have been avoided had I been repaid in a timely fashion.
  • Still nothing
Phoned spoke to someone barely speaking english
Another note put on my account
    No timescales
    Very sorry
    Blar blar blar
  • Just a follow up from yesterday's post, i re-read the letter from the 21st December with my offer to settle the c/c claim, it says interest has been calculated up to 18th January ....so i reckon it will be at least february before i see the remainder they owe me.

Am tempted to phone and ask why this will take over a month longer to be paid, but i believe it will only be a waste of my time and cost to call them, so the waiting will now begin.
  • I read somewhere that Lloyds had drafted in 500 workers to help clear the backlog of claims. I assume maybe there were 20 people doing this before bringing in extra workers (assumption based on no facts).

    Theory .......

So..... 520 people working on clearing a backlog of claims, fair to say that if i was doing it i would hope to sort out 2 before i stuffed my face at lunch and 2 in the afternoon before heading home (again based on no facts but 4 per day should be a fair target).

In theory 520 x 4 = 1080 claims per day being delt with.

Ok i know this is a fantasy but :

What are all these extra workers doing? I submitted my claim 12th may 2011, some people have claims dating back even long. Maybe my Ppi refund has been used to pay for the extra workforce? Or maybe lloydstsb are full of poo poo.

Telephone operator tells me my claims have been upheld but as yet they have still failed to send me an official letter to the correct address and still no written offer.

If i took 8 months to make my mortgage payment they would be in the process of taking my home.

    Rant over.

Congrats to all who have received their payment
  • has anyone been paid yet this year?
they seem to be paying out in batches
hopefully the next batch will be soon and we will all be in it
    fingers crossed
