my interest is paid up until Wednesday(14th/12) if I don't receive payment by then should I phone them to complain or will I just be wasting my time?

There will be no Christmas for Tiny Tim this year.
  • aaaagh I could scream. Sorry in advance for the rant :-)

Unlike a lot of people I've had my refund quick. Except instead of offsetting it against balances owed on Lloyds credit card and loan, as promised, they stuck it in to an acct I haven't accessed for 3 years, and was in the process of closing. All I've done on this acct is pay off the overdraft via DMP, and the debit card was shredded at their request. So cannot remember internet banking password and do not have debit card as ID!

So on the advice of the PPI people, I went to my branch armed with all my ID, letters, statements, the lot, to transfer the refunds from the current acct to the right places within Lloyds. They said 'Computer says no' for a full hour, until I refused to leave. At which point they confessed they'd lost my signature from their system, so even if I had the debit card I couldn't do a transfer. Eventually I managed to get my credit card paid off, but they sent me home to refresh my (v old) internet password, saying the only way I could pay off the loan was via internet banking. I tried, only to make the obligatory call, and be asked for a 3 digit security code for a card that the bank had made me shred ages ago.

I dialled a human but failed the security questions, because

    a) I couldn't remember the exact date I opened the account (22 years ago)

    b) they asked me the OD limit on the account today. The last letter I got was dated October so I quoted it. Wrong, apparently. That's what happens then Lloyds change the limit month on month in line with repayments and then take many more weeks to tell you.

    c) I couldn't give details of any standing orders or DD's. Because there aren't any. Because this is an account I've been paying off on a DMP. So payments in, only, and no withdrawals BECAUSE I AM PAYING OFF WHAT I OWE YOU?! Like thousands of people right now who are bound to fail your so-called 'security' question because they're not spending, consuming and making YOU money?!!

so...I failed...after several hours, to correct THEIR mistake. Only a £3k refund from the nightmare Dracula operation that is Lloyds could cause this much grief. I've spent hours on the phone and in branch today, trying to allocate MY refund to pay off a debt. a refund because THEY ripped me off in the first place. A tale worthy of Kafka, methinks.

Apparently I may get a phone banking PIN in 5 working days. but because it's 'coming up to Xmas' it might not be until New Year. IT'S 12TH DECEMBER?!

I've tried. But at this rate, once I get my hands on that telephone banking PIN, the remaining £2k is going on a foreign holiday, where I get blatted and stick my fingers up to the whole useless bloody lot of em. Sod 'em. they're the bane of my life. I've had enough!!!

I am dealing with a claim for my friend against Lloyds.

She took out three consecutive loans with PPI between July 2007 and November 2008, the last of which is still active.

We submitted the claim in Feb 2011.

We had an offer letter dated 25 Aug, saying £1,473.22 would be paid as quickly as possible by cheque. (Interest calculated up to 19 Sep)

After much chasing, apology letter received dated 23 Nov.

They sent recalc letter dated 4 Dec, increasing amount to £1,710.90, but they state that they have "issued payment instructions to the Personal Loan Centre to restructure your loan accordingly; any additional payment owed to you will be [paid into your Lloyds bank account.] This will be completed within the next 21 days." i.e. Xmas Day (lol)

My friend is worried as she wanted the cheque payment, so she could allocate money to other bills which are more urgent than the loan.

I know people on here have said it will go into the loan account then back out again for technical reasons, but why don't they say this in their letter?!

Also, how likely are they to stick to their timetable?

Finally, going through my friend's paperwork I noticed a credit card statement from June 2007 with PPI on it! This was not included in this claim, and Lloyds have not brought it into the equation (presumably a totally separate dept, they will say). Should I hold off on submitting a claim for these until we get the refund on the loans' PPI? I don't want to give them an excuse to muddy the waters, especially as the first loan was to pay off the credit card.

I'm not sure what really happens with the loan restructuring and payments but I was told that I would receive the money that I had paid in PPI. I was specifically told that it would not be used to reduce the loan repayments or balance, but bearing in mind the lies LTSB tells who knows?

It is unlikely that they will act in time. I have been waiting for £7000 since 18 August.

I would submit the CC claim now. It will be processed under a different reference number and should not delay the current claim.
  • No joy here either
  • Nothing here as well.I think i should give up getting any joy before xmas.
  • Absolutely nothing here either. It is so frustrating!! I cant believe a company of this size is allowed to get away with how they are treating people. I have e-mailed numerous times now, with no repsonse at all. I have refrained from calling them as by reading on here it seems to just add to the frustration and you never get any real answers!
  • nothing again today. totally depresssed now:(:(:(
