Marksman, you have stuck your head above the parapet here and here comes the first load of arrows. Most of us who are waiting patiently for OUR money have been waiting a long long time. Now, for whatever political reason (it certainly isnt because the bank have put their heads down with shame and are saying sorry) they have decided to just pay everyone back with a reasonable and/or legitimate claim. We are not just hanging on to every day for a little windfall. We are all in this sorry state because of a massive cockup and the money is not theirs to fanny around with. It is OUR money. Forgive me for overracting to your posts but it would appear that you do not necessaryily need any extra money that is owed to you to a) feed yourself, b) keep yourself warm and your assumption that we are all desperate to get out 'shopping' is a gross insult. Window shopping in a supermarket is not funny. Being owed money by a bank is serious and so are their lies and promises. No wonder there are so many of us who are utterly fed up. So dont keep telling people to stop and think....

Your point is taken and i understand your situation and expect these arrows, but your redress will come and by no means was i ment to insult anyone but just to help people understand do not make plans with redress payments until you have it. Trust me ive helped more people than moaned at lol stay calm. I couldnt agree more that the banks have pulled everyones pants down and slapped our bums and as we turned round to see who it was had our money out our pockets as our backs were turned but its better to be prepared for a wait than to make the situation worse by spending what you havent got yet.

Again i wish you all the best and your situation and wait are over very soon. ;)

Marksman, you are completely correct in what you say, until we all receive our money we shouldn't plan what to do with the money until we actually have it. I am guilty of it too, I got my offer letter from RBS on Saturday and I was on the phone to several debts I have to get settlement figures, waste of bleeding time as I probably won't get the money for another 8 weeks.

I'd love to buy things too but won't be able to, on a previous won complaint with Clydesdale they received the acceptance form on the Tuesday and they had previously done the calculations, the payment was in the bank on the Thursday.

Why can't they all do this, I have no idea personally, after all they are the bleeding banks and control the payments system, no way does it take 16 weeks to look at someone's complaint and take that time to say yes or no, then another 8 weeks to say ok, yes they were mis-sold, what are they due, is it live, yes, ok we return what they've paid plus the interest and 8%, ok, I have a speradsheet to input the details on to, there you go, I have a calculation done, right we'll just send this off to the payments team for a BACS transfer, and simple it's done!

I hope, like Marksman you all get your payments soon, I too am waiting, I hope your mum gets better soon nutty, I take it you've covered the email to the CEO?
Thanks to all the competition posters.

haha Mmmmmmm......... no arrow with that one! :rotfl:

I agree again other banks have it all done and dusted within 8 weeks where as Lloyds cant even seem to find the cheque book! within 16mths which is a disgrace ;)

I really do wish you all the best and by no means was i intending to offend anyone but wishing to give advice and keep you from making a wrong decision, Honestly im on your side folks! :rotfl:

  • Marksmen is correct in what they say. I told my dca that I was expecting a refund, but until that came through I would like to deal with them based on what chickens are running round the farmyard, not on the eggs in the basket.
I'm hoping this will be a nice way to pay for my christmas presents and put me that little bit closer to debt free in the new year... although I am going to keep emailing and demanding my money from them until they're sick to the teeth of me. I've even asked them to freeze the interest and charges on my current overdraft as it would have been paid off on the 6th October when they said they were paying me, but they didn't of course, so why is that my fault. But we'll see what they say to that one.
