Have just come home to find the famous recalculations letter that I was first promised at the beginning of November.
My interest has now been recalculated from the original 5th October to 27th December.
Not holding out much hope of getting the money in the bank today then!0 -
Well I'm in the same position as most on here I guess, I put the claim in June to Barclays, approved in September, cheque should have been with me 14th November but of course hasn't arrived.
I've been on the phone to them on average 3-4 times a week since and still no further forward, they can't explain why I haven't received it and more frightening is they can't tell me when I should expect it either!!
I think they must think that we are all stupid, all these delaying tactics is just that - delaying tactics. Think about it. Say an average of £5000/claim to pay out, now lets say they aim to get 1000 of these payments out per month (these are just arbitrary numbers by the way but you get the idea) then it's not rocket science to see that the longer they can leave not paying out then that works out to a staggering £5,000,000 they can earn interest on in a month.
I'm sorry people but we have all been taken in hook, line and sinker by these wretched banks. We will see our money when it's good and ready by them and not before.
The front line team we either speak to on the phone or email, are as much use to us as a chocolate tea pot, they are just there to absorb the flack and whatever they say to us is total rubbish and should not be believed. I have had so many promises that it's just water of a ducks back now.
So to sum up, stop worrying about it. No matter what you say to them and no matter what they say to you, they know exactly when they will pay us but one thing is for sure - it's not when they tell us when it should be.
A totally shocking way to run a business. Funny isn't it that both Lloyds and Barclays are operating this in virtually identical ways.:huh:0 -
Do you think theres a case for asking for the interest they are earning on OUR money for every day they hang onto it?0

Personally? No. The reason being is that as soon as you do that then that will give them another excuse for delaying the payment even further - I have been told that by one of the chocolate tea pot brigade so that must be true!!
What I do think though is that maybe there maybe a case for contacting Watchdog. Even if nothing comes from it I would just love to see one of the banks spokesperson squirming in his/her seat while being interrogated by Ann Robinson. I might just look into this the mood I'm in at the moment.0 -

You are genuinely wasting your time i have contacted them at least five times. They are not willing to get involved. Sorry to rain on your parade.:mad:0 -
You're not raining on my parade and if you have contacted them 5 times before then fine. Whatever it takes to make me feel better then that's what I'll do. When I submitted the form to them I guessed that probably nothing would happen but if you don't try then definitely nothing will happen will it.
Also, if many others contacted them then maybe - just maybe, they will start getting interested. We'll see.0
