I want to know why my interest was only calculated up until the 15th November, this makes absolutely no sense whatsoever as they haven't paid me a sausage. I shall be writing to them when they finally pay me and get them to put through the extra interest that's required even if it is pence.

if they past the date interest calculated to (ie. 15th Nov) they should now send you a new calculation letter with a new date on it? so hopefully these new letters are turning up now ;)

  • I have received my settlement offer (back in October) but after explaining that my partner and I are no longer together, they agreed to put the cheque in my sole name (I paid the policy for the length of its term) that was on 15th October, after another cheque (again in the joint names) I rang and explained we had split up 2.5 years ago, and I dont know where my ex is and have had no contact from him for that long. Again they apologised and said they would issue another cheque in my sole name. I rang them last night as I am yet to receive any cheque, and I was told that they need my ex to sign to say he is happy for me to have the money. I know he wouldn't agree to that he would want half (despite him never paying the policy) in my eyes thats my money and I want it back. Lloyds say they are looking into "options" they have. Would they try and track him down? And are they right to withhold the refund until they either find him or get him to agree to paying me solely? Of all the phone calls I Made to Lloyds I was never advised this would be the case, I was actually told the cheque would be made payable to the person who initially fined the claim.....Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated!! (Im new to all this!)

Can you clarify -did the original agreement have joint names ?
  • Yes policy was in joint names
  • Did you request to take his name off once you split ?
