Tell them "I am sorry I am not speaking many English, I am the Au-Pair and I am having the sex now, are you wanting to be coming too?"
That should do it.My Mind wanders, if found please return.0 -

I should imagine if you have just got out of the bath to answer the door, your not going to be able to just go get your licence, i would be eager to get back in to warm up.
Doorsteppers have no rights to force their way in, they have the wrong details i am sure OP will be contacting crapita in the morning to correct them.0 -
if capita come calling and claim to be from Tv licensing i would warn them that i am going to physically remove them from my property in 30 seconds as they are clearly attempting to commit fraud as "TV licensing" is a trademark, not a company:A R.I.P. Dave "Simmo" Stimpson.....:AA friend, A Gentleman, and a Damn good pool player. You will be missedone in prison, not long enough0

When I did my licence over the internet, they sent an actual paper licence through the post as well as a receipt by email. Is that not how it's done these days?
I'm in favour of the TV licence, but have sympathy for anyone without a TV who is hassled, or who has genuinely attempted to sort one out.0 -
There is no 's' in 'licence'.
There is if it is a verb!0 -

I do not have a paper licence it was all done over the internet (banking is internet also so no paper statements) and emailed to me, I couldnt get it up and show here without letting her in - not that it would have mattered as as she said they cancelled it and informed Mrs Kear of the cancellation.
Jnelhams I might just try that next time :rotfl:
(Muppette) it is freezing out and I had to get out wrap a towel round me to go speak to her, I was shivering and just wanted to go back and relax in my lovely warm bubble bath after a stressful day & yes your right I will be contacting them in the morning to sort out my details and also to complain about the horrid woman.
You are just wasting a phone call if you think they will listen to your complaint about that horrid woman. They are trained to be like that so that they get their commission.
They have to pretend to have power to try and scare people into buying a licence.0 -
I'm very tiny and don't look very old - so I'm often greeted when I answer my door by people who ask "Is your Mum or Dad home love?" I always tell them no and I'm not sure when they'll be back. My own daughter is 24 and I'm a grandmother.................. they'll have a long wait for my own Mum and Dad to get back :-)0

So you think no one should have the right to watch television feeds unless they subsidise the BBC for you first, how very selfish of you.
Perhaps they should introduce a newspaper tax next so you have to fund the Guardian before buying any other newspaper?
Out of interest how would you feel if the next door neighbour knocked on your door demanding some money towards their television subscription ?0 -

So you obviously think the licence fee just subsidises the BBC, who do you think pays for all the maintenance of the transmitters both television and radio without which there would be no terrestrial television.
Not everyone either wants or can afford to pay Murdoch's extortionate fees for TV broadcasts.0 -
