c. If a change is to be made it won't happen because someone posts videos of Capita staff exceeding their authority possibly in a criminal way(if they are genuine) or because others accuse everyone who disagrees with them of being in the pocket of the BBC
Do try and be a bit more rational.
I think you'll find more and more people are fed-up with being forced to fund it and I suspect this was the reason why they've had a break from the constant rises in the TV Licence.
I also find people are genuinely shocked when they hear about the tactics the BBC use scare and intimidate people into funding them.
The worst I remember is an old women in a wheel chair who tried shutting the door on the goon but he put his foot in the door thus stopping her from closing it.
He went on to make a false statement to get her into court but once the court found out what was going on it didn't see the light of day0 -

What on earth has that got to do with the fact that I was answering an incorrect post that stated this:-
We are the only country in the world who has to pay a tax on tv.
You may try to rationalise the reason but for what ever reason it is a fact other countries have TV licences not just the UK as the poster tried to claim.0 -

Well a lot of BBC zealots like to pass of the TV Licence as a good thing because it things their political agenda, I thought it worth pointing out one of the reasons those countries have one!You may try to rationalise the reason but for what ever reason it is a fact other countries have TV licences not just the UK as the poster tried to claim.
I thought it common sense but their is certainly no reason to force it on people here0 -

I would suspect that hearing a TV would be grounds to claim that a TV licence is required
No it wouldn't.
Firstly, they would need to know it was a live broadcast they were hearing, as opposed to a DVD/video tape, catchup etc.
Secondly, even if it was a live broadcast, they would need to know it was a TV being used to receive it, rather than a STB connected to an audio amplifier.0 -

They are two types in society, those who distrust authority, know that "they will lie, cheat do what ever it takes to stitch you up and get a result.
And those who think authority is only to fear if you do anything wrong.
In the second group lies the pond that these liars and cheats drink from.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
