If they had the technology you would hear about how good it is and how many cheats they have caught and prosecuted. The BBC luvvies would have posted reports on here. More people have seen the Loch Ness monster than a working TV detector van.
If they had this great equipment they would not need to send out millions of nasty letters and want to search innocent peoples houses.
Lets assume the technology exists. If they want to use it to prosecute anybody, they have to make the details of it available to the defence as well as the prosecution. This would therefore mean giving details of this "technology" into the public domain, making it easier for people to devise suitable countermeasures, making their "technology" useless against anyone determined not to be caught.
Now lets now assume the technology does not exist, and the BBC admit this is the case. This would be a major loss of face for the BBC and remove one of their big sticks they like to threaten people with.
Which one would the BBC be most comfortable with? As they admitted in the Houses of Parliament to a select panel of MPs, their policy is to be deliberately threatening, abusive and confrontational to non-licence holders to coerce them into purchasing a licence, then admitting such technology does not exist would not be an option.
So nasty letters and conning innocent people to have their possessions routed through by salesmen on commission it is.0 -
!!!!!! it would be a lot simpler if they got rid of the viewing tax altogether and make the BBC pay for itself like other channels do. We are the only country in the world who has to pay a tax on tv. I object because I have had to pay for equipment in order to go digital plus a bloody tax on topBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

And libraries fund themselves by payments from borrowers.
And the police fund themselves by payments from those who suffer from crime.
The BBC is a public service and one that has been thought worthwhile by governments going back many, many decades. We are the only country in the world who has to pay a tax on tv.
This is an outright lie.I object because I have had to pay for equipment in order to go digital plus a bloody tax on top
Tough. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -
Typical answer from a BBC luvvie have you nothing to say about the links to video clips i posted.

Yes, I think you are on a different planet, at least metaphorically and yes I think it is not the norm or anythin like it to go to the front door with a camera but it is essentially harmless if that is your preference.
200+ posts and still basics can't be sorted out:
a. The licence fee is a government fee
b. it is collected on their behalf by the TV licensing people with the job now contracted out to Capita
c. It is NOT the BBC who goes collecting however many times you say it. They have no say in the mechanism of collection whether good or bad.
d. it is one way, but not the only way of funding the BBC. Maybe it could change and be funded by adverts or general taxation or not bother at all and that is worth a debate
e. Maybe the BBC shows bias in its programming and dealing with that is also worthy of debate
f. Perhaps a Capita employee has been known to behave poorly in which case the solution is to discipline him or her
g. You have more faith in videos shown on Youtube as absolute fact than I do
The problem you have is that you have shown yourself incapable doing anything else but see red mists if the BBC is mentioned and continue to spew complete rubbish and confuse issues.
BTW How hard is it to sort out quoting?0 -

The British justice system has more faith than you in YouTube videos.
He won his case in court.
