Yeah - and I think I have too!
rate's only guaranteed until this month though eh? Definitely going to take a close look at my money this weekend regardless.

The point is, the rates are still good (although not the best) and they did pass on some of the increase on some of their products.
ING has gone nowhere even after three BoE rises.
I'll never forget last year when Halifax lowered its ISA rate for no apparent reason though. I'm so glad I didn't kneejerk and take a fixed rate!
SuzeManAtHome wrote:I take the point about Halifax having a wider range, but their websaver is stuck at 5%, and not much increase on the majority of their savings products since the last BoE increase (although their mortgage rates don't seem to suffer from the same inertia...).I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Savings & Investments, Small Biz MoneySaving and House Buying, Renting & Selling boards. But Halifax are now well behind Birmingham Midshires (part of the same group?), Bradford & Bingley, IceSave, ICICI (haven't tried them) and a few others.
Moved out of ING in December, started moving out of Halifax last week.0 -
Their regular saver is OK though and so is their current account... basically I'm going to mix and match and for the sort of thing I'm after I'm going to take my money away from Halifax and dump it elsewhere.

Yes, certainly wouldn't advocate a "boo hiss, closing all my accounts" approach. I work the same as the banks - it's business, not personal. If I can get half a percent or more I'll move savings.
Banks do panic and increase rates when heaps of cash starts moving out (eg ING) as they have to maintain some sort of ratio between savings and loans.0 -
Has ING advertised this new rate by the way? I never received a mail about it - I found out from another website! Seeing as it's only for existing customers you think they'd tell them (or maybe they're sending mails in batches and I haven't had mine yet).

Think some people have had emails - I never got one, but I've only had a couple of quid left in since December. Certainly hasn't been a high-profile announcement, would probably have stuck with them if they'd made a move 6 weeks or so ago.0

Applied for my 5.65% ING websaver on Thursday online.
Websaver appeared set up on my account this morning (Saturday).
Moved money across from 4.57% account. Cleared immediately.
