This ING web save looks a better deal. Thanks for the tip. Must get wife to open an account and transfer some funds over (she's the non tax payer). Wife was trying to open an icic hisave account. Sent them photo copies of bank statement and passport as requested and guess what!! they say never received them. hope she don't get caught with identity fraud.
  • AT LAST....ING wakes up and smells the coffee!!!

Thanks for this, I didn't realise that the Web saver has increased rates to 5.65% until I read it on this site! also raised the maximum from £25K and removed the withdrawal penalty! I'm very happy, saves me moving everything about for a while!

I have just moved everything over to my websaver !!!!!! FAB!!! I'm a happy bunny!!!!
  • Had an email today from ING telling me about the 5.65% websaver.

But I beat them too it as I opened a websaver yesterday afternoon thanks to THIS board.

Thanks everyone for being so quick on here!

:EasterBun (because it's a fab smilie)

Like others on this thread, I am pleased that ING is smelling the proverbial "coffee".

The 6% for 6 months offer is good. I need to have a think, though. If there will be another base rate increase or two this year, Icesave will up their rate again and it is possible that it will reach 6% (currrently Icesave pays 5.7% AER - so only 0.3% to go. Last time they upped 0.25% from 5.45% to 5.7%). I think I may prefer moving the money to Icesave because my money won't be tied in for 6 months.

Hmmm .... really need to think it through this weekend. My ING pot will mature some time next week.

I am pleased that Ing has raised its rates. I like the site and find it much easier to manage than either ICICI or Icesave. Also they use an 0800 number and I find the CS people very helpful

I've just moved nearly all of mine and OH's money into the new accounts (well I hope so, it says we will get confirmation in the post so I hope it isn't already oversubscribed).

Couple of questions - did anyone manage to read the t&c's? The print was so tiny on the PDF link, and there seemed so much of it that I'm afraid I just trusted to luck. I assume there wasn't anything in them to be concerned about.

Also, does this mean that any problems encountered (e.g. accessing account) may not now be queried by phone? Unless it does mean this, I can't see how it differs operationally from the existing 4.75% account. I thought that was online only too.
    :D I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe :D

I don't see any provision for opening this account online, only by telephone, or have I missed something?

Phone only - takes about 3 minutes after you get to the front of the queue. Queue was about 5 mins first thing this morning.
Do Money Saving sites make you buy more bargains - and spend more money?
  • I've just opened the Web Save account online. Login to your existing ING account then click on 'Open New Account'. Nice and easy.

Sorry, I was a bit vague; I was refering to the 6 Months fixed account. It appears I was right, it's telephone only.
I already have a web saver.
    Thanks for the reply.
