When I joined ing I went for the instant access good interest which is why I have now joined icesave, the ing fixed rates now being offered look like they are trying to fund their other little side lines like insurance and mortgages. Their web site is good but so are most others now, but if I am honest the reason for my disloyalty to ing is the feeling that I was stitched up with with lack of information and interest rates not being passed on.

It's tempting to just shuffle the funds into the new 6% a/c, but... 6 months ago 5.1 seemed like a good deal! I believe the markets are still pretty much pricing in two 25bps rises before the Autumn, and it'd only take one (fully passed on) rise to bring Icesave more or less on a par (with no 6-month tie-in)0

I agree, it's nice to see a response (finally!) but because it's only open to existing customers it's obviously designed to stop the flood of account closures or money being moved.
And yes, they've finally woken up and joined the others but the response is far too slow. I'm quite glad I moved to Icesave.0 -
It's interesting that the websaver account is only available to existing customers. Normally it's the other way round - you get offered a good rate to open a new account, but aren't eligible if you already have an account.
So, in this case, I feel satisfaction at having kept my £1 in my ING Direct account. I think I'll have some of that 5.65%...0 -
It still says on their website "One great rate for everyone" lol"The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts."

To me. it is one lousy rate for everyone.
My wife & I have I believe 7 accounts with ING, for various things, which I will now carry on closing, well actually withdrawing the money from and leaving a balance of 0.
There are far better rates elsewhere, than the lousy 4.75%.0 -
Anyone got a link for this ING 6.0% deal?
I will give a 'Thanks' for it.0 -
