    I use:
Kaspersky Internet Security (AntiVirus/Spyware + Firewall) running constantly
and the following for monthly on-demand scans:
    Ewido (renamed to AVG AntiSpyware)
    SuperAntiSpyware
    Spybot Search & Destroy
    Ad-Aware
    PandaActiveScan (online virus scanner)
    BitDefender (online virus scanner)

Kaspersky usualy stops everything which poses a threat to my PC, the on-demand scanners only find cookies... Rather be safe than sorry still!

Hi - has anyone tried using Avast free home edition. I have been using AVG for the last 18 months, and have had no problems, but just felt like a change.

    Thanks

I have installed AVG onto a friends computer which runs on windows 98 I tried to download Zone Alarm as a firewall but it says it is not compatable, can anyone suggest a free firewall that I can download which is suitable for windows 98?

The latest versions of Zone Alarm are not compatible with Win98 but you can download old versions from here if you want to use ZA.

I installed Avast after my Norton subscription ran out. One of it's processes would hog the CPU for hours on end. I went to their forums and lots of people seemed to be having a similar problem with the process in lots of threads. All the experts would say was that it had to be doing something useful  I uninstalled it and installed AVG in it's place without a problem.

You may be lucky and not have a problem, but why bother?
