Just using a good linux based operating system like LXLE or Linux Mint (cinnamon edition) is sufficient to avoid having hassle with viruses/trojans etc.0

I've used Panda for a few years and installed on a friends pc. Both work well. I've just also recently discovered their online scan which is simple to use.0

You say that. Somehow my brother-in-law managed to get his browser hijacked using Firefox on Ubuntu (it was the one that makes the browser go fullscreen and say "Your browser is locked and your data encrypted", and change that to his homepage).
I have to say, I was rather impressed that anyone could do that
I have seen the odd thing on linux - but you have to log in as root at some point to allow them and Ubuntu is bad for running as root by default for the first 10 minutes after start.
