Bitdefender Internet Security 2009, I use this on my main PC and was thinking of purchasing the Total Security 2010 3 years 3 PC's, but I Bitdefender seems to make it complicated in what to do. If I just purchased another year would I get a free upgrade to 2010 and they say they give 50% off but when you go to pay the proce goes back up to the usual price. Emailing them gets you nowhere and customer support is a big deal when you get stuck or have a problem. I like the software but I'm unsure if I should try something else as everyone seems to have their own preferences on which is the best and userfriendly.

    Its not free

Free ones are AVAST, AVIRA and MICROSOFT SECURITY ESSENTIALS

Panda Cloud is free too, not bad and not a resource hog, I use it in my low memory XP laptop http://download.cnet.com/Panda-Cloud-Antivirus-Free-Edition/3000-2239_4-10914099.html

    ESET NOD32 for antivirus/antimalware, and a Cisco PIX 501 for a firewall.

  • Not allowed to post the link eset on line scanner

Eset do a full on online scanner AND ITS FREE it finds and removes the bad stuff i use this as a back up to full well known brands and free microsoft beta .found it on cnet this is the real deal you do not get firewall the idea being is that you buy the product and get the full package but as scanning goes its amongst the best and it removes the threat SO IT WILL NOT PREVENT THE THREAT GETTING ON TO YOUR SYSTEM BUT IT WILL REMOVE IT WHEN YOU CLICK THE LINK AND SCAN

TURN OFF UPNP ON ROUTER IF NOT NEEDED DO A LOT OF GAMEING AND HAVE NOW ISSUES IF TURNED ON CAN BE USED BY HACKERS AS A BACK DOOR ON YOUR SYSTEM IT WILL BY PASS ROUTER FIREWALL AND GIVE THEM CONTROL OF YOUR ROUTER AND GOD NOWS WHAT ELSE MOST ROUTERS SHIP WITH THIS ENABLED

    Hi all,

Just after a bit of advice really. I've just got rid of McAffee off my netbook and have downloaded the following:

    Avast free antivirus
    Malwarebytes anti malware
    SuperAntiSpyware
    Spybot S&D with immunisation
    and PC Tools Firewall Plus

I use Firefox as my browser so I suppose my question is - is this enough? Should I be looking to download anything else to add to these to help keep me protected? :)
  • Glad you are happy with BitDefender cannylad, mine as been total rubbish. Says I haven't scanned for x No. of days when it has, even has a schedule set up for it to be done at a certain time. I have done the repair feature as instructed by the help line 5 times and it is still no good, now I can't even scan. Luckily I only have 2 months left on it and I WONT be having it again so am the lookout for a new one.
