What Security do you use?

Avira Anti virus
Use some security related software
Virus free for 2 years!!

3. Superantispyware (full scan once a week)
4. commodo firewall
5. ccleaner.

Sorted! Never had a virus. Best advice is use good old common sense! IE: file sharing and don't visit dodgy sites.

Not sure if this is the right place but does anyone have any experience of using a program called:

Returnil System Safe

The 2011 version is available as FREEWARE and I thought it sounded interesting. It seems to work on a similar basis to Sandboxie in that it creates a safe virtual memory area where you can browse to your heart's content and not worry about viruses and malware etc.

In a right pickle here. I am currently on DD laptop as my home PC is flaging up security alerts all over the shop. Identity theft alerts, keycopy torjan, fake vimes etc.
When we had the home pc a friend installed Eset Smart on it. I am unsure if it was a paid or free version (if there is such a thing ) I am scanning it now & it claims there to be no problem however I have a My Secirity Shield prompt urging me to buy a sub to erradicate the virus'.
I am out of my depth here.
If I go into faves, say ebay, MSE I get a website security prompt, poss spyware threat detected so assume the Estet isn't up to date.

Please only helpful advice. I can work a PC but all the ins & outs, behind the scene stuff I don't understand.

Eset scan has just finished, all present & correct.
Maximum security yet again another virus protected screen Packed.Win32.Polycrypt
appdata/roaming /microsoft

Not sure what next to do.

Start a NEW thread detailing the problems you have

Download MALWAREBYTES (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/
Open malwarebytes and goto UPDATE and click 'check for updates'. After its updated goto SCANNER and click PERFORM QUICK SCAN then click SCAN
Remove everything thats found (needs to be ticked)
Post the COMPLETE log in your NEW thread AFTER youve deleted everything it finds
If anything was found then do the exact same but run a FULL scan

Download HIJACK THIS (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')

Click MAIN MENU then DO A SYSTEM SCAN AND SAVE A LOGFILE(Takes seconds) then post the log in your NEW thread so we can see whats running
(do NOT do anything else with Hijack but scan and post the FULL log)
If you get a message that you cant write to the hosts file then Press the SHIFT key, and whilst holding it RIGHT CLICK and select RUN AS (admin)
