Hi all,
Just after a bit of advice really. I've just got rid of McAffee off my netbook and have downloaded the following:
Avast free antivirus
Malwarebytes anti malware
SuperAntiSpyware
Spybot S&D with immunisation
and PC Tools Firewall Plus
I use Firefox as my browser so I suppose my question is - is this enough? Should I be looking to download anything else to add to these to help keep me protected?
You really need to use the MCAFEE REMOVAL TOOL if you havnt already

As for security, you might want to consider the NOSCRIPT plugin for firefox:idea:0 -

Hi,
We have received this response from BitDefender:
"Hi Cannylad,
Sorry to hear of your experience. We do run occasional money-off promotions on our website and we of course offer free upgrades to our latest product for customers with existing licences.
If you can forward more details of your experience, including links to the pages on our website you have visited, to bitsy@bitdefender.com I will personally make sure we get this sorted for you.
Many thanks,
Matt Hicks

Hi everyone im just after a little advice i use my laptop alot for online banking ect and want to make sure its completly safe i use avg anti virus is there anything else that would be good to use?0

I use windows firewall and microsoft security essentials (the latter of which, as mentioned, is a free download).
Windows firewall doesn't bother me much, and security essentials seems very effective, as whenever I want, I can open it and do a full scan (it also does scheduled scans and automatic usb drive scanning, all in the background). It has already found numerous trojans/viruses and the like since I got it a few months ago.
This, in my opinion, is much better than using commercial software (Nortan, Kaspersky, McAfee) as these slow the computer and generally make the computer experiance more frustrating. And this saves money.0 -
I currently use:
AVG9 (Free)
Spybot Search & Destroy
Zone Alarm (Free Edition)
Malwarebytes
Never had a 'problem' in the last 9 years.
I will not personally use any Microsoft (To many 'Security' Updates makes me think that maybe they don't know what Security is?)
or Norton (Lost control of my machine to a piece of Software, dam!!!) products.0 -
On my home PC I have Nod32 and a firewall on my router0

I would install the FREE version of Zone Alarm (Firewall) with this you can if you want see who is trying to come in through the 'back door' so is excellent unlike Windows Firewall where you cannot see what is going on!0 -
