lol u might say that but the computer holds important things and things do sneak through now and then so going the extra mile sort of helps.

BTW is there a way to test the effectiveness of a securirty setup? Any progs or websites? Have tried Shields Up at www.grc.com and it says my ports are all "Stealth". But I don't know how comprehensive the tests are on that site, or even what they're for exactly.

recently i installed Norton 360 & have had no infections touch wood, got spyware doctor as well

Hey Ric, I know you were a big fan of Avira but according to the tables in the second link Avira was rated way down the list. Have they gone off the boil or have I mis-read the results?

That's referring to the firewall in the security suite, not the free AV, also note it still beats Eset, Panda and AVG. HTH.
