In conjunction with the excellent NoScript, I would also highly recommend Adblock Plus with Elements Hider (both are Firefox extensions) ;)

That appears to be at odds with THIS thread.

I've got it. CPU use is much like that reported by Superscraper on the thread above. Seems OK........even in North Devon!;)

I've ditched Norton, as I wanted something lighter, and now have:

    Microsoft Security Essentials,
    Online Armour Free,
Sandboxie, and Firefox with addons for browsing,
    SaS, and MBAM for anti-malware.

^Definitely agree with all the above; that's a nice tight security kit  Instead, and out of personal preference and absolute faith in the product, I choose Avast (anti-virus) and Windows Defender (anti-malware).

I really like avast (an old favourite), but it was a choice between two.

I decided to give Microsoft SE a go, because it had good reviews, and I couldn't resist .

Oh I agree with you about MSE. It's a nice (and free) security package; very few false positives (as far as I can see), it's very streamlined and lightweight, and excellent auto-update and scheduled scanning facilities too. Ditto Avast

    I am currently using

    Eset Smart Security(Nod32 AV engine)
    Malwarebytes
    Windows Defender

and I prefer Firefox over IE, thats it.

Testing Microsoft Security Essentials on anther machine and its looks promising, very light install and when running.
