How to turn down a wedding invitation?

WTFFFFFF - SERIOUSLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would tell her that you were considering giving a gift but, in view of her extreme rudeness, you won't be bothering!!!!!!!!
Or, for the 'anything for a quiet life' option, just say that you haven't thought about it yet - and then don't bother giving anything when the time comes. Aren't you leaving the job before she gets married? So you won't have to face her in the office when she (no doubt) throws a tantrum about it all. :rotfl:7 Feb 2012: 10st7lbs14 Feb: 10st4.5lbs

Wow.........
This girl is extremely rude asking you how much you're giving her
I would NEVER, EVER dream of asking how much people are going to give me for a wedding gift (nor would I expect one). Plus you are NOT GOING so you shouldn't be obligated to give a gift!!!! I would only give one if I wasn't able to go if I was a family member or close friend. You are in her words a 'work colleague'!
If you do decide to give her a gift, I wouldn't make it a monetary one. Just tell her you haven't decided yet
!!!!!! indeed!!SPC 9 # 5360 -
Absolutely UNBELIEVABLE!!!
I agree with Megan - a book on etiquette, or manners is needed desperately by this girl!!
How has this woman still got any friends??

Anyway - if you're not as feisty as we are, I agree with WanchaiOr, for the 'anything for a quiet life' option, just say that you haven't thought about it yet - and then don't bother giving anything when the time comes. We had put a poem in our invites, saying seriously, just come, we don't need gifts, but if you insist, money would be nice (worded much better obviously!), and when we opened cards with nothing in, we were genuinely happy that they turned up and enjoyed themselves, and they got a thank you card just as nice and genuinely heartfelt as those relatives who donated hundreds (one paid for the cake, one paid for the cars, one paid for the flowers and favours/table decorations).
We genuinely just wanted our closest friends and family to be there for our special day and to enjoy it - and luckily they did

Maybe put her off as long as you can, then, when you're just about to leave your job, tell her what you really think!! :rotfl:

I have to say, I really cannot get over this woman's manners (lack of), I've been thinking about it all afternoon and still cant believe she's so rude. And apparently has been able to get through life without any adverse effects because of it.0

I am totally appalled by this BRB's attitude!
I wouldn't even spend any of my hard-earned money on buying her a book on etiquette - I'd simply send her an email with this:

Seriously OP - words fail me! I would not part with a single penny of my money on this colleague who has, in the past, made it clear that she is just a colleague.
Do not worry or stress about this - she is not worth the effort."Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?" (Douglas Adams)0 -
BRB? I'm lost....

OMG! Lol!! Unbelievable. Surely if she's asking other people things like this then nobody will actually turn up to the wedding?!0

I wouldn't say that:She doesn't have many friends
hmmm....
I pity her, she must be a very lonely person. I agree with Pinklipgoss, she is not worth the effort of worrying about how to not upset her, through no fault but her own.
