"Got your reply. You never mentioned you were going away." Was that it? Didnt she have the decency to ask how you are? No but she hasn't asked or texted me sine i've been off so I wouldn't have expected it of her.RainbowDrops wrote: »I'd say don't bother getting into a dialogue, why should you have to justify yourself? So far I haven't replied. She's never text before, so I might just play dumb as though I didn't get it, or didn't think it needed a reply..... or something...Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -
Right, she is seriously annoying me now - she is completely self centred.
I am tempted to suggest a short pithy txt saying you are on sick leave, please don't harrass me. But probably the above advice to not get get drawn into a dialogue is better.
Or, just the light chit chat response you suggested yourself.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
oooooo to add to this, my friend from work (one of the other girls in the office) has text me back as we have been messaging today as I had a docs appointment this morning, anyway she's put that she's just left work, what a day she's had and the fact I didn't buy a card to apologies for not going, didn't go down well........... I didn't know I should have. Double whoopsie-daisy.Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0

Some people send a little card as a reply but if people can't come to my wedding I'd be happy with the RSVP and any reason which you have given, don't let it bother you it's just her being picky and pathetic :eek:Saving my pennies for my wedding on 10th August 2013!:j

Ok, Her invites came with little card things and I ticked the' can not attend' square, and on the back wrote a little note explaining about going away, but that I hoped it went ok, or something like that.Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -
Yes, more self obsession going on here: you are on sick leave!! You shouldn't be wondering round town buying cards presumably!!
And anyway, any method is fine - people who couldn't come to our wedding emailed, rang, etc. But then, I only had close friends and family, not everyone I have ever met at our wedding...I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -

That's lovely, you have declined which was a option she gave and you have given a reason and a wish for the day. I wouldn't ask for any more than that but I think I'm "normal" :rotfl:Saving my pennies for my wedding on 10th August 2013!:j

I personally would do a card if an RSVP card was not provided. But if one is and obviously had can not attend box on it.... I really don't understand what her problem is! If you want a carefully chosen card, don't provide a generic card to send back! :rotfl::T0

Why should you get a card? She is a work colleague, and not a very close one at that. If it was a friend or family member, or someone I was close to at work, I would get a card, but not for someone who doesnt want anything to do with you, but has invited you to make up numbers.0 -
I have previously declined weddings via a card, and then sent a congratulations card nearer the wedding. I've never had an RSVP card sent to me I don't think.
I sent out RSVP cards with my wedding invitations and I'd have been upset if someone sent a new card and didn't return the RSVP! (I was collecting them)
If she is going to moan people aren't giving cards - why the bloody hell did she send some?? It's not like it's her wedding day and she's upset she didn't get a card wishing her and her husband well.
I really think you've dodged a bullet turning down this wedding! :eek:0
