Holy Moses! I can't believe someone has the neck to send anyone this. Must take the prize for the most ungrateful bride and groom ever.
  • Did you actually send her any money? I would've been inclined to ignore her wedding was even happening once I'd left work and then I would have been in the position to send to following response:

Oh you silly thing, it's so sweet of you to be thinking of us during what is such a trying time for you! But honestly don't worry any longer- I didn't give you a penny as I knew you didn't deserve it.

Now that's where I've been going wrong! I need to text people and ask them how much they're giving us so i can book now. :rotfl:

We're asking for contributions to our honeymoon, but we're waiting for the amount after the wedding and then will decide where to go. Hopefully we get enough to go to our first choice, if not we'll go somewhere for a weekend to like Rome or Paris or something.

The cheek of some people though! I really would text her back asking for the money back if she's not happy with the amount. You're so restrained Jax!

I was working with her at the time. Everyone in the office contributed £10, there was only a handful of us so she would have got off us about £60 I think.

I didn't go to the wedding.

I left work about 3 weeks after her wedding, so no longer work with her but am friends with the girls in the office - hence I know no Thank You card or mention has been made.
Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....

    I think you've had a lucky escape!!

She sounds like she just has no social skills, I really want to feel a bit sorry for her but from what you say she doesn't make it easy!!

Is this a true tale? I'm not surprised at what has panned out, if true.

We don't do weddings, or 21st or anything like that. Why would we?

We always send a decent present though. Being mean has nothing to do with our reluctance to join in a totally forgettable experience for us.

I know it is different for the bride or birthday girl/boy, but that stuff is not for us.

So, if u are true to yourself you will decline all those invites to boring, formulaic celebrations.

Make an excuse and send a lovely gift . Sorted.

We are still great friends with ALL the invites we have declined over the years. Decent pressie, and a kindly worded sorry is all that's

I say send her a link to this forum and she can see how disgusted people are with her actions!

I find it unbelievably rude and selfish.
