Virgin Mobile - retention deal?

There may be no penalty in the last three months (although I'd be dubious of that) but if you leave and have 13 mobnths left (as you seem to say) they'll charge the full 13 months not let you off the last three, why should they your leaving they have the contract that covers them and thewres no reason for them to apply goodwill as your going.
I decided to run two sims as this is financially better for me.
I dont understand why they dont distinguish between keeping you and losing you either, especially when I have recently spent a fortune on Virgin mobile!0 -
For reasons which aren't material, Virgin has offered to upgrade my contract 3 months before expiry as follows:
HTC Wildfire (free)
900 mins
unlimited txts
1 Gb downloading
Cost £15/mo for 24 months
Oh, and they charge me £20 (one off) to buy out from my present contract.
Sounds quite good to me but I'm not an expert on these things. I suspect someone in here is, though.
Hi Foggytown, we are looking into this HTC Wildfire phone which our daughter is after - she 's picked out a package thru car phone warehouse at £20 per month but it's nothing like the one you say Virgin have offered you!
As we are with Virgin ourselves (TV/Broadband/Phone plus 2 x mobiles) I had already thought I'd look to see what they have avail, and saw their website showed the HTC wildfire free on their £20 a month tariff but when I checked the "Details" which lists all the avail tariffs, the £20 a month package meant the phone was £99.99 and not free!!
So I tried calling them to get clarification and after much faffing around through different numbers I eventually got thru to some distant operative who advised that the website hadnt been updated yet!  And that the best package they could offer with a free HTC phone was £25/month
Obviously I was not impressed but what can you do? I even mentioned the offer that you had from them (£15/month) to which I was reluctantly told that would be because of a contract was coming to end blah blah blah. The fact that we have everything with Virgin inc two other virgin mobile phones counts for little! The only consolation is that we would get add free calls/texts between our virgin mobiles - great but we still didnt want to spend more than £20/month for this HTC contract.
The only option open to us for a similar phone at £20/month thru Virgin was a Sony Ericksson Mini Pro - would that be as good as a HTC Wildfire? I doubt it.
In answer to your question - Yes, I think that's a very good offer, I just wish we could get it.

i think you should go through t-mobile who virgin piggyback off. 600 mins 500 texts 3gb net and one another booster £200 -
We've gone for the £20/month option with Car Phone warehouse (3 network
) it gives 300mins, unlimited texts and 500mb net use - it's what our dd was after so she can't complain
(not that she would I'm sure).
Still very disappointed with Virgin about the their £20 tariff/free phone offer that doesnt exist!? Still, it's their loss!0
