Virgin Mobile - retention deal?

Not a brand new thread but need assistance. Contract coming to an end. Have Virgin mobile with free broadband for a year. What pressure can I use to get this extended not having much luck on my own. Used to think I was a good negotiator!0

I was just wondering as I have posted a couple of threads requesting help with Virgin Mobile retention offers recently but have received no responses.
I know they are not the most popular provider out there now but I originally stuck with them as most of my family used them.
I suppose if I do not receive any responses to this thread then I will know the answer ... or maybe it's just me! lol0 -
I think it's because they are a pretty unpopular network when compared to other networks and the deals they offer. My wife's dad is on Virgin and will be porting to 3 when his contract ends in 3 months. He doesn't text or use many minutes but he can get a new phone and 600 x-net minutes for just £15 a month on 3. There is no way Virgin will offer anything near that.
I just don't think anyone would want to stay on Virgin with the other deals that are available.
It's not you it's Virgin Mobile!0 -
Unless you go for the 6 month free on a six month contract with just one cashback claim in month 4 from cpw that is (150/150 bundle) - plus at least £10 profit if you know how.0

I used to be on PAYG but saw an offer in CPW last Christmas for a free Samsung D900 on their Virgin 20 tariff - 200 xnet anytime mins / 300 txts with free Virgin Bites for a 12 month contract at just £20 a month.
When I enquired in the shop about it they said it was a mistake as that phone (top phone at time) was only available at £30 a month.
After a bit of persuasion I managed to get 3 mths half price line rental and £80 immediate cashback to my debit card from CPW as I pointed out the £20 price was clearly advertised in their shop displays and catalogue. Worked out about £20 a month so I was happy!
My wife has been on the 3 network 500 xnet anytime mins for £15 (18 mth contract) with free phone for the last 5 mths and is happy with their service but I would like another 12 month contract if possible as phones and prices are moving so fast at the moment. I know 18 mths is becoming more the norm but its a pain.
Also I wanted to stick with Virgin to save the pain of porting my number and thought I would be in a better position to get a better deal through retentions than starting afresh with a new provider.

The shops don't do these deals and it's in their interest to put you onto something else. I have a 12 month Virgin deal totally free. The sim is available and has been for a while. The shops won't have it either though so I wouldn't waste your shoe leather going to ask! In addition you may have trouble getting one if you have a current Virgin contract and it would probably be better to get one early in the month rather than at the end if you did.0

Mulerider, what deal on three gives you 600 x network minutes for £15? That would be an excellent deal for a new customer. I have a friend who needs about 500-600 minutes and maybe 50 texts pm. That deal sounds like great value. I can only find the mix and match 300 for £15 on the website - and I think that gives an inclusive allowance of only 300 minutes OR 300 texts.0 -
Leave Virgin Alone!
They are really good and offer free voicemail and lots of minutes, 3 is a lot of ****0 -
I'm really happy with Virgin, I have the £10 a month offer, and it's pain free.
the only thing that drives me crazy is the price of internet access. It's a total rip-off with Virgin!0
