Virgin Mobile - retention deal?

I wonder if anyone out there has ever been offered a decent retention deal at the end of their contract on Virgin (pay monthly)?

My contract is due next month and basically their standard official deal is to lower the £32 per month to £25 on a rolling monthly basis with no new contract. It's only 100 xnet mins and 200 texts (was a 12 month nearly free cashback for anyone wondering why I paid £32 a month for that).

After several years I have decided the stress of cashback deals is becoming a bit much, and I am only prepared to go with Carphone Warehouse because of the added security of having 60 days to send in bills. They don't seem to have anything good at the moment or in the recent past from what I have seen, so I have been thinking of one of '3's 18 month half price refurbished deals. Before I go ahead and call to cancel, just wanted to see if anyone can give me a heads up. Anyone ever had an offer from Virgin, or heard that they do them?

Thanks.

Is that based on your or someone else's experience? Or did you just come up with that as a random one to try?

It's an offer with NTL (who now own Virgin). If you are an NTL customer (phone or tv or broadband), you can have it. See NTL website for details. Offer expires (current info) 31 March.

I'm on this as well and am also wondering. They will lose on awful lot of customers if they don't offer something good.

Hi, Linx - I was hoping that it would stay the same but Virgin mobile and Virgin broadband say that it will revert to a normal state after the year. I also think that they will lose a lot of customers but if you have an idea of how we can force their hand please let us know. What you are quoting is a totally different contract by the sound of it so the situation may not be the same but I can always stand corrected. Personally I do not want to change over to Virgin landline just want their mobile and broadband.

I'm on a £30 tariff and my contract runs out mid August. I have been told I can have the n95 (currently out of stock) on this tariff. I have asked for it on a lower tariff with free phone - a match with Orange. The sales team are going to ring me back.
