"Sealed Pot Challenge 5"

Good evening all. A lovely 5p and 2 pennies roadkill today plus £1 from DH's friend who I'd picked some soup up for.
Somebody on here (sorry, can't remember who) described 5p pieces as 'annoying'! I love those coins! If you don't want them I'll gladly take them off your hands.I've never spent one since they came out. They've always gone straight in my 5p Pot.
Hugs to all. Keep warm.
When my Gran was alive and they bought in the new 5ps she saved every one that she got for me and my brother. When we went to visit we would spend the first hour or so counting and sharing them out. I have very fond memories of that
My very generous OH gave me 5p to go in my pot last night and then today he gave me the 1p change from his KFC - I had a tuna sandwich from b*ots reduced to £1 so cheaper and healthier! I also found a 10p on the bedroom floor this morning which certainly belonged to my OH because all of my coins are accounted for, but I had popped it into the bottle before he had a chance to object :rotfl: So that's a total of 16p for me today!
I bought some shoes on ebay last night that I had tried on last summer in next and really wanted. I paid £12 for them and they were originally £40 so very pleased, although I still feel slightly guilty about spending the £12
Not so cold here today but pouring with rain and really miserable weather. Take care if it's snowing where you are!

Some people accuse us sealed-pot types of wasting money because we must break into notes in order to save coins. I'm sure most of us on here are saving more than we would otherwise by joining this challenge!
I agree. I think the point is that you think harder about every penny you spend because you want to have some left to pot!
I've been out and about in London today, walked miles with not a sign of roadkilland did you know it costs 50p to use public loos in Westminster? 50p!!!!!
Managed to pot £2.56 this evening
A light dusting of snow here in Reading, it seems warmer than it has been though so it might not stay.
Keep up the good work, potters

Put £30 in pot today to make sure that Feb is covered, think I'll do that every month then add all the little bits I can.
Someone mentioned tweezers earlier...for coaxing money out of the pot? Well DON'T be tempted to use on coins - DS has admitted (after interrogation) to using mine for that very act and has ruined them! Had to buy a new pair today grrr...want to make him pay for them, but he's spent all his money!0 -
Not potted all week and very little last week. Been on a mission to clear my overdraft. Managed to clear £150 Yay :j:j:j:j:j
Waiting for wages to go in the bank, thought they would go in on Fri because of the weekend but they didn't  so will pot lots on Monday to make up for the shortfall.
I feel like I have turned a corner with money and being organised more seems to be paying off with other things in the house too. Hubby well impressed.:rotfl::rotfl:I have never been so tidy!
Hope everyone is ok and not too cold with the snow. Just had frozen rain here in Cheshire although the roads are bad and I think it may freeze so will be worried for hubby who is on work and has to leave at 6 in the morning. Take care everyone and have a lovely warm evening.

Im still here  Miss Lily is absolutely covered in chicken pox and is going through the worst stage this weekendShe fell asleep on me earlier an I had to try and carry her up the stairs to bed, she woke up and cried and cried
So calpol and a big cuddle was needed.
Played musical beds last night as she came into us at some unearthly hour, then she and DH decided to use me as a leaning post in their sleep, so I got out and got in Miss Lilys single bed, just dropped off and I hear 'stop kicking the bloomin covers!' then thud thud thud 'mummy? I dont know where you are!' so then we were both squeezed in her bed. After 20 minutes of that I gave up and went back to my own bed by which time I was wide awake and spent the next 2 hrs tossing and turning.
Im hoping she might start to feel better tomorrow, but she really hates calamine lotion, says its freezing and screams every time I put it on her. If anyones got any ideas how to warm the stuff up please, let me know!SPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £225/£10000 -

Hope Miss Lily gets a better nights sleep for all your sakes Jakesmum - with any luck she might be over the worst - fingers crossed.
The roads were very slippy when I came home tonight - so if you are out and about first thing - take care.
