Good evening all. A lovely 5p and 2 pennies roadkill today plus £1 from DH's friend who I'd picked some soup up for.
Somebody on here (sorry, can't remember who) described 5p pieces as 'annoying'! I love those coins! If you don't want them I'll gladly take them off your hands. :D I've never spent one since they came out. They've always gone straight in my 5p Pot.

    Hugs to all. Keep warm.

    I'm the same with 20ps :)

  • morning all,

looks like everyone is doing really well.

20p found in town yesterday so in the pot it went along with a shiny new £1 coin.

Have decided to start DD (18) a pot of her own and found a lovely little pink one in homeb*rgains for 99p. She was so happy to get a 'cut' of our pot at xmas as she was totally penniless(uni student). so me and DH will be sticking 50p each in every week so she has £50 for xmas spends.

Wondering about starting pots for a couple of other things too but not decided yet.

my 2 little nephews are saving pennies for children in need day so everytime they visit we have to empty pockets and purses for 1p's but its worth the excited looks on their faces to see how many they can get.

Hoping to pot more in february as january was a very tight long month.

snow expected later so off to get all my chores finished so i can relax and not worry later on.

take care keep warm and pot away folks

evening everyone:wave: Hope you are all well. 5p roadkill for me today two high school kids in front of me at self serve today just walked away and left a lovely 5p too much hassle to pick it up:eekD

I work in a school and have often seen kids drop small change and not bother to pick it up - including 20p coins. Maybe they'd stoop for 50p?!

Only 7p for the pot today although I'll empty my purse this evening so there should be more to go in.

The upside of not putting much in is that I'm not spending much and not withdrawing much from the bank. Some people accuse us sealed-pot types of wasting money because we must break into notes in order to save coins. I'm sure most of us on here are saving more than we would otherwise by joining this challenge!

    Hi everyone

Have potted lots of pennies today so feeling good Snow has arrived here not too bad at the moment though!!

Was going to go out now I'm not sure if I can be bothered but if I stay in it will be football, racing, golf, darts, wrestling or some other sport on the TV!!! My life is full of decisions!! Think I might just sit and knit and annoy DH apparently I put him off enjoying sport now how on earth do I do that?

Just thought perhaps I might go to that big paint store and pick up a few colour charts we could look at them between races, matches,or whatever I think he would like that, it would be a little treat for him :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Hello fellow potters !!!! I have been watching this forum for a few weeks now and have tried to post before now but forgot my log in details !! (so many of them with all the different sites !) Have finally managed to remember (age you know !) anyway I want to join this fabulous forum ! Please can I have a number and someone tell me where and how to add it to my details ? I have been saving since beginning of Jan in a sealed tin, I have two wonderful girlies (chickens) and my friend buys their eggs from me and I pot that money... also have a snowman where I put all those annoying 5p's and have an old quality street tub that I save all my coppers in (have done these for a couple of years now) Anyway I am saving the monies and will be opening my pots in middle of August as I go to Disney orlando with my family on 24th. So any money I save from now until then will be for a suprise luxury signiture meal out to celebrate my husbands 50th birthday!! (Thinking maybe Sanna at Animal Kingdom) Will warn you I do waffle a bit!!!! and have loved reading all the comments on here and look forward to being part of a growing community.
