Yes you can, even if you had 1,000,000 accounts.

Yep one bank, one letter, one charge, thats what Martin says and I've also done the same with Clydesdale.

No this is incorrect. It's £10 for all of the information they hold on you.

Did you request the information under the Data Protection Act?

if you are requesting the copy of your statements on an account, it is £5 per account you want the duplicate statements on.

    No.
You don't ask for statements, you ask for data. This will include all statements. You pay £10 and you get all data, which will include all statements no matter how many accounts.

Yes and used the templet letter from site..... their going to ring me back tomorrow as the department closed while i was on the phone. They also told me that the reason for the delay was because their allowed 40 days from when they cash my cheque which obviously is tosh as they could keep hold of my cheque for ever.....

    Thanks for all your help

40 days is correct, but if they have satisfied your identity, they should process it straight away and not sit on the cheque for ages.

If they seem to be stalling, you may want to mention the Information Commissioner to them.
  • hi

it is £10 for all information they have on you held on computer or other included device such as microfiche. it does not specifically include statements but you will be able to find your charges in the bundle they send. the 40 days as i see it is from the request, as you say not much incentive to cash a cheque if not is there.

  • Hi everyone,

I'm after some advice on claiming my bank charges.

Basically I have two accounts with HSBC, and am trying to decide whether to send one claim letter listing both sets of charges, or if it would be less complicated to send two separate claims.

I've looked everywhere on the site for such advice but can't seem to find any answers...please help me!!
