I think it would be better to go to another bank entirely.

The £10 covers all your accounts within one bank.

    Hello all

Claiming on behalf of my gf.

Found the address on here for Nationwide to ask for a list of feesData Protection Team,
    Nationwide Building Society
    Kings Park road,
    Moulton Park
    Northampton
    NN3 6NW

Does this address apply for both her current account AND credit card account?

Do i need to write two seperate letters each with a £10 cheque or just one with both account numbers?

    Thanks alot

    Hi

I'm sure I read somewhere within the forum, that when we request the details of our past charges, if say you have more than one account with the same bank, you only need to submit one fee of £10 to cover all accounts with them.

I have 3 bank accounts with Halifax, and have had 3 credit cards with them also, so when I submitted my penalty charge request I sent them a chegue for a tenner to cover them. However, It has come back from HBOS today stating that I must pay £10 for each account, ie £60, and have returned my cheque and request.

Can anyone clarify if this is correct? I cant seem to find the advise I read previously!

    Cheers in advance.

They are lying. Use thier reply against them in court, it is a deliberate stalling tactic.

Subject Access Request: You are the subject. You are requesting access to data that the company holds on file about YOU - the SUBJECT.

That means even if you have 100 accounts, £10 covers the statutory fee to request all data they hold about you. Remember, you are not asking for just a list of charges, you are requesting all data that the company holds about you which includes all transaction data (statements), no matter how many accounts you have/had.
  • I previously had 4 different credit cards with the following providers:

    HSBC
    Barclaycard
    Capital One
    Vanquis

These are are paid and cancelled and I don't have statements or anything. At the time I wasn't very organised, and would quite often paid the HSBC payment a couple of days late (due to the payment date normally being 23rd or 24th and my salary being paid on the 25th) so I know I had quite a number of £30 charges with them.

However I am not too sure as to whether I incurred many (if any) charges with the other 3.. Therefore I am not keen on sending 4 lots of £10 cheques for no reason.

I have used the template letter but if I sent this without enclosing a cheque, what is my response likely to be.. could they reply telling me to forward £10 even if there are no charges?

I look forward to your help

    Thanks

    Jade

You might be lucky & they might send them, as many have. However, they don't have to. Whether there are charges on the account or not, the £10 fee is payable and rightly so.

Thanks.. I understand that, but just wondered that if they receive my letter and can see from their system that no charges were ever made, would they still reply to my letter and ask for the £10.. or would they be more likely to simply inform me that no charges were ever made?
  • i have 2 accounts with lloyds tsb, can i use the letter asking for the break down of charges for both at the same time. i.e: put both account numbers on the 1 letter and pay the £10?

    thanks in advance
